Re: Mycorrhizal Fungi
Interesting read. There is so much to digest in those articles, I had to take a step back and get a cup of coffee. The vertical transmission is amazing. These articles are making me re think a few things on how important mycos are and, how they effect future generations.bower wrote: ↑Tue Apr 09, 2024 2:21 pm @crunch1224 I was able to find that previous discussion and yes, there is science to confirm "vertical transmission" of some endophytes at least through the seeds. Only a fraction of the community of endophytes is found in seeds, compared to larger numbers in roots and also shoots. I didn't reread these linked articles entirely, but didn't find Glomus species mentioned as seedborne, so maybe not the Glomus. Some Trichodermas and Pichia were confirmed seedborne.
Couple of good reads about the endophytes:

Re: Mycorrhizal Fungi
Myco Bliss was my second choice. I looked into it and if I didnt buy the extreme mykos, I would have bought the Myco Bliss. It looks like a solid product with high endo ppg.Stitchingmom wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 6:36 pm I bought Myco Bliss last year, but only at the end of the year. I added a bit to my tomatoes, but I admit, I'm a bit foggy on the whole process. Have to read up this year. When is the best point to add? Final up potting?

But sounds like the Extreme Gardening Mykos are an even better option? It's in my Amazon cart - just double checking...crunch1224 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 08, 2024 7:19 am
I think Plant Revolution's Great White would cover what you are doing with the MycoGrow and Biotamax. Your MycoGrow has around 203 ppm in total of endo mychos.

Re: Mycorrhizal Fungi
Morning, The reason why I said Great White should cover what you are doing is that with your currant regime you are using two products that could be cut down to just one product. The extreme mykos product is better at one aspect. If you were to use it combined with Biotamax and Actinovate it would be a very good regime. I was thinking that just using Great White and Actinovate would allow you to stop using Biotamax and save a few bucks and would also be a very good regime.CrazyAboutOrchids wrote: ↑Wed Apr 10, 2024 8:26 amBut sounds like the Extreme Gardening Mykos are an even better option? I would hate to say that Extreme Mykos is a better product beings that I am testing it out for the first time myself. They use a different strategy than Great White and I see what they are trying to do. So taking that in mind I looked at other products with a similar make up and I see that Extreme Mykos is on top of the list as far as pushing that strat.
