Like Worth we're having seesaw weather. A few days ago we hit 80 degrees then back to the 50's a few days. Now a few days of 70's but tomorrow and Friday the lows will get into the 20's so we gotta cover some plants this afternoon. Got another 1.75" of rain yesterday making it about 7.5" over the last six days. I won't complain as it's been dry this fall. We're playing catch up all at once.

Chilly (into the 30s) for the past two nights. I had to bring inside my poinsettia plants, my patchouli plants, and the Christmas cactus. The patchouli plants look like they're about to bloom. I have never seen blooms on patchouli plants before. Probably because I have never grown patchouli before. : )

7.5" in six days? We don't get that in six months!

The sun is out and it's supposed to get into the upper 30s this afternoon which should start melting last weekend's snow. The highs are supposed to be into the 40s and 50s for the next 10 days with no snow predicted so at least we will get rid of the snow we have before more starts falling. I hate when it just keeps piling up.

Worst was when it thawed some then froze and then snowed again. Doesn't happen here too often.

Pouring, again. And will continue to do so until the New Year, apparently. The two nastiest words in the English Language: "atmospheric river."

Just winter here, cold, 20s lately. Sun was out today, it'll snow, some say a bunch, some say 1-3 inches tonight and tomorrow. Then up to 45 on Friday.

Hot to very hot Down Under, we set a national average record of over 40C, about 105F, on Tuesday, expecting Friday to be hotter still. Not good for all the fires about

whwoz - Your extreme weather and fires have been reported here in the states on the Weather channel, I hope the heat and fires subside soon!

The next several days are supposed to be in the 50s and low 60s here. Most of last weekend's snow has melted now. We had a calf born yesterday so it's good that the weather is mild for it's sake. Calves can have a hard time if born in the winter. The first couple days are critical to survival.

Yeah the Aussie blazes have been in the news here too, again last night. Stay safe!

We had a couple of bone chilling nights. -16C/ 3 F last night, -13C/8 F tonight. That is about as cold as it gets here, usually just a few days in the run of a winter. It is cold enough that all the extra veggies and fruits keeping cool in my unheated porch had to be brought in to prevent from freezing. Murphy's law against stocking up on perishables! Still below freezing in the porch today, so I'll have to check and maybe cook some things tonight. That is just as well, because a big storm with snow and high winds is expected tomorrow and Christmas day. If there's food cooked and ready, I'm all set.:)

after getting 115 inches of snow to date, we had about a 10 day break in the weather. temps climbed into the upper 30s, might have even hit 40 one day. now we will soon be getting into some weather with rain turning to freezing rain turning to snow turning to heavy snow over the next couple days. monday could be a bit of a mess.
it was nice while it lasted.

How cold does it get at night with all that snow?

It hasn't stopped snowing here since Christmas Eve. No sooner you shovel, look out the next morning and it's as much as the day before. Not the heaviest snow but continuous, and not much of an end in sight. May see the sun shine on Tuesday they say, but snow forecast the day after. Looks like all told this run will add up to about 50 cm for the week. Hibernation is the vibe.

We got between 8-10 inches of heavier wet snow overnight into this morning. Temperature is a few degrees below freezing. The electricity flickered three times and went out around 5:30 this morning. We called it in and were afraid it affected a larger area, but a service truck came to work on our township road line, and we had it back by 9AM! I love those hardy repair guys that get out of bed and drive on on bad roads on a Sunday!

Wet! We have mud holes that haven't completely dried up since spring time. We even had thunderstorms Christmas day. Lucked out that they eased up so we could grill the steaks.

night time temps here vary through out the winter. lake superior usually keeps temps in the teens to 20s.
the polar vortex can drop it into the single digits or zero. late winter if it is cold enough for the lake to freeze over
can cause the bottom to fall out. the coldest i have personally seen is minus 30 F a few years ago. now that is just dang cold.

snowed overnight then changed to rain. i had to get the plow truck running, and get slush off the driveway to make it passable.
supposed to get 4 to 7 inches snow tomorrow. it is sloppy wet outside.

Bushfires running rampant here in Australia. Over 7.5 million acres burnt in New South Wales, with fires in South Australia and here in Victoria. A number of coastal towns in East Gippsland and South-eastern NSW have been on evacuation orders today 31/12/19 with entire towns ordered onto the beach. Fires got into the townships of Mallacoota in the states far east. Houses burnt and fortunately only a few lives lost. Mallacoota got to 49C today due to the fires.

8˚here this morning...but that's balmy compared to the low temperatures at Antero Reservoir, about 80 miles northwest of here...48 degrees below zero, the last two days.

well, we survived the monday storm ok.
the drive home was a little dicey.
i worked 10 hours yesterday, and saw the snow fall all day long through the windows. the
wind was gusting at times. we ended up with between 7 and 10 inches of snow on the ground.
the main roads were being kept clear by the road commission. they hadn't done the secondary
roads though. i would say the road off the highway was only barely passable. i was creeping along
between 10 and 15mph. any faster caused snow in the road to crash over the front of the car, and
cover the windshield. when i got home, i had to deal with the driveway. my wife had cleared it once
with the tractor and snow blower before busting the roll pin that connects the front pto to the blower.
i finished clearing the drive with the plow truck, and we got the tractor back in service this afternoon.
winter.
