Tomato Grower’s Supply here. I don’t know why any of them sends me a paper catalog since I order everything online.

I had an e-mail from Seed 'n Such saying their catalog is going out soon but if you can't wait, "click this link and download it". I'll wait for the paper version.

@GoDawgs; got that same Seeds-n-Such email.

They've also been applying a cyber-full-court-press for ~ the last eight (8) weeks.

Johnny's came here, yesterday, but the prices were up even more, and the shipping is too high, as usual.

Yes, I wonder how it is they compete? It is hard at times to comparison shop as seed numbers vary per package as does the shipping costs per vendor. Sometimes, one vendor only seems to have exactly what variety is wanted. I’m definitely an over-orderer type that is slowly and surely accumulating more seeds than I need or can ever plant. I don’t remember ordering much of anything from Johnny’s, maybe I have, might have been some beans. There’s probably at least a dozen seed vendors I’ve ordered from now. $30 here, $45 there, it adds up.

SeedsNSuch arrived here too today. I'm glad I got the few things I knew I was going to need when they had that end of season sale a few months ago. I think I paid $2.30-something a pack on sale.

This past year 1-9 packs of seeds last were 2.99 each. This year they'll be 3.99 and the flat rate shipping went up a dollar from $4.99 to $5.99. Since they carry mostly hybrid items and over time I've switched mostly to non-hybrids, I'll probably not be ordering from them this coming spring. It'll be interesting to see how much other companies are raising prices. With shipping costs, wages, fertilizer and other inputs heading up I've been expecting this. There will be an even stronger effort to save more seed this spring.

I ordered from Fedco. Some pretty and colorful mustard, a quick kohlrabi and those delicious Maxibel filet bush beans. And then a couple of Synergistic sweet corn varieties, “Cafe” yellow 68 days and “Sparkler” 78 days bicolor. Then an Okra found in Comal county Texas and a few french marigolds.

I think my favorite 2023 seed catalog so far is Sow True Seed. That one has features like a companion planting chart and another that has seeds listed for suitability for transplanting. Other little nuggets of information are also in there. Smallish catalog that punches above its weight.

I order online anyway so most of the catalogs get tossed after a look or two, but I might hold on to the Sow True Seed catalog for a while longer.

What features or inclusions in the various seed catalogs have made a lasting impression? Any catalogs stand out? Does everyone prefer filling out the paper order form or do you tend to order online?

It happened again, 2 copies of Baker Creek's regular catalog, delivered the same day. I sometimes wonder what the mailman thinks.
