Hot and dry here. Low humidity so plants are good. Temp check shows 36C, feels like 33C, starting to cloud over a bit

@Growing Coastal the law of averages is on your side for fewer weather disasters in 2022! I wish you have a year with none at all! as you all deserve a break.
Weather here is average to nice for a new years day. Sun is breaking through some haze and expected to shine, with a high of -1 C and winds less than 15 kph. It's time to go freeze dry me some clean clothes! With the seasonal probability of precipitation at 71%, every day without some is by definition a laundry day and a score.

No clue but it could be locally as it suits our weather conditions lately.

30F, -1C at 0530, we got our first little 3 or 4 hours freeze this morning. Heading for 55, 13C later today. 77, 25C by Wednesday. Pretty standard Gulf Coast zone 9 weather for January, although a 77 for the high might be pushing things a bit.
Extended for January looks to be on the warmer side of normal, but not freakishly warm like December.

Re: How's your weather?
Rain on the new moon yesterday and again today, snow tomorrow. We have thaws and rain in the forecast every couple of days this week.
Very short lead time for forecasts to change though. Tomorrow's 15 cm wasn't expected until this morning.

Re: How's your weather?
So far it's down to 34°, after 62° yesterday, and dropping all day. So far only 3/4" snow, but melting on the roads and walks, due to previous heat. Supposed to stop in early afternoon, but who knows? I might go out soon and sprinkle some calcium chloride on the walks, and steps, though I don't have to go anywhere all this week.

Re: How's your weather?
Snow! About 5 inches where I live, the most we've seen in one storm in a couple of years. Beautiful, wet snow clinging thickly to all the branches; lovely to look at but the power outages are starting to pile up. Rumor is that they're having trouble clearing the roads because a lot of road crews are out sick with Covid. It doesn't help that this storm was a bit of a surprise, not in the forecast until yesterday, so there wasn't much opportunity to pre-treat the roads. I'm a snow lover so I'm happy to see it, but I know it comes at a price.

Re: How's your weather?
It stopped snowing, and I only got about an inch on the walks, since most melted. Only took about 12 minutes for me to shovel, then salt, the steps and the walks - took longer than that to prepare for it!
Looking at the snow around my deck, and the table there, we definitely got well over 2" - I'm lucky it has been so warm, to heat up the walks and roads, as it didn't build up much there.

Re: How's your weather?
The front came through yesterday and we were freight trained by fast moving storms all afternoon and evening, each one dropping some rain. We ended up with 2" and satellite tv signals were popping in and out all evening. After the rain passed the wind kicked in and howled out there all night long, 20-25 mph gusting to 35. This morning there were a lot of little limbs down along with a bunch of twigs and sticks everywhere. The wind finally died out around mid morning. Highs have gone from a record 80 two days ago to 54 today and the rest of the week. Lows have dropped from the 60's to 28 tomorrow morning and 30's the rest of the week. Winter has finally arrived.

Re: How's your weather?
Yesterday I did my first real shoveling of the winter - light duty, 40 minutes including the barricade left by snowplow. The rest was pretty fluffy stuff over the skim of ice below.
Puddles everywhere this morning, and already 6C/ 42F at daylight. The wind is pretty high, gusting over 70 kph already, but a wind warning in place as it will gust to 100 kph later today. And to boot, there's a new 'special weather statement' for friday night into saturday, with up to 15 cm snow and winds gusting to 120 kph.
The weather is so changeable this week, thaws and freezes barely have time to do their thing before the next. Big temperature changes from day to night of around 12 degrees C, several times. So anything thawed will freeze hard if it's on the ground.
