Hello from Illinois
Hello all, newbie here. Been gardening for maybe 5 years now. Central Illinois gardener who found his passion later in life. Like growing heirlooms of all types. Trying to be a good steward to my little piece of land and will enjoy learning from all of you.

Re: Hello from Illinois
Thanks for the welcome everyone. I’ve been reading some of the other forums, this is a great place for information. I’m going to have a lot of questions I’m sure, so it’s nice to know there are so many knowledgeable people here that can answer.
I try to keep a garden log every season so I can learn from previous mistakes, what works, what doesn’t, etc. I’m not always great at record keeping so that’s something I’ll need to improve upon. I really enjoy starting everything from seed. It’s always amazing to me when I stop and think about how much food we can get from 1 little seed. To me, that’s very rewarding and I enjoy the feeling it gives me.
It all starts with soil so I’m interested in building the healthiest soil I can with what I have available to me. Enjoy getting my hands dirty. Guess I’m a dirt nerd.
