I was teased with a Harzfeuer tomato plant today.Never heard of it.
The garden club was setting up for a sale tomorrow on the town green so I would have to go back tomorrow in the rain (10 miles one way)
There is no guarantee the plant will be there tomorrow when I get there.

They look like a beautiful, globe tomato. Cool history too. "Resin Fire"

The plants may be big enough to plant outside if I can find the room.
I used all my skills and all my powers to accelerate the growing process 1 month stage.
5 out of 6 seeds popped.

Fall crop? In CT? How does that work?

EDIT: Oh, sorry, I see you are going to plant them out now.

15 hours of light per day LED hurt you eyes light, no cells just lots of soil.
lights are about 14 inches over the plants.
6500K strobe light 1 sec on 1 sec off 24hours a day until recently 1 week in direct sunlight.
Supposed to rain next 2 days so I brought them indoors.

Nighttime temps are in the 50's F so I put a curfew on the plants and get them indoors before dusk.
I put them back in the sun the following day.
Monsoon expected today so they will keep me company indoors.

This tomato is probably OP. Maybe it was at some point F1, but I don't think anyone is still producing the seed. Some say it's the same as Moneymaker, others that one of the parents is moneymaker. In any case it has a similar growth pattern, with stiff leaves that grow upward, high production, and sensitive to sunscald.

The history says the guy had to change the original name and just picked that name back in 1959.
The seedlings look like a standard PL plant nothing exotic.

I would say something exotic, as Harzfeuer should be a regular leaf. ;)

I hear you on the drought conditions. I'm lucky to gather enough grass clippings in the neighborhood, for mulch. The way things are going, there won't be a lot of mowing down the road.

If it were me, I'd save at least one, not knowing if a treasure would be thrown away. And saving two, you'd likely know if it was something stable or not.
