Took this the other day going to work a little late due to the ice storm.
New forest growing where the great fire came through a few years ago.

Here's the only YouTube video I've ever made.
I took all the pictures and it was the last time my wife and I went there.
It's willow city loop in the Texas hill country.
Enjoy.

About 15 or so miles from my house.
Finally the great beasts were up close to the road.
Right on highway 21 on the Lee and B astrop County line west side of road.
The American Bison.

I was driving by a field that seems to be well loved by Snow Geese. They hang out in this massive flock, has to be close to half a million geese. What a racket they make. I could only capture half of the field/flock. A beautiful sight!!

Winter skies here can be really pretty - the only bit of color as everything else is, or looks, black and white.

The garden spends a lot of the winter days in shade. But I caught this strange effect, where the sunset behind those tall trees was catching the icy treetops with a sort of back light.

They brought in a giant crane to take down a giant crane.
Took all day yesterday to set it up.

Got a snap shot of The Norwegian flagged Clipper Freeport headed out of the Freeport Harbor, loaded with a cargo of up to 78,000 cubic meters of liquid natural gas or 44,886 metric tonnes of propane, destination Cristobal, Panama. My favorite berry picking spot is right on the Freeport Channel. The channel is non-stop busy these days.

This ship was built in 2017 by Hyundai Heavy Industries and is in the category of very large gas carriers. 230.1 meters in length, ~755 feet. 105 feet of beam. About 40 feet of draught. Dry weight of nearly 51,000 tons, that’s heavier than an Iowa class battleship.

These tracks are from two weeks ago, on the morning after the full moon. Place was full of rabbit tracks, but there's a fox track too. I wondered who came through first, then I thought, it would be like the fox to walk in between the rabbit trails if he came through afterwards. A dog would run all over the tracks and mess them up or follow on top. Fox keeps his distance. Might've checked the post holes for a mouse or vole.

Apparently the next stop is Cristobal, Panama, probably to clear customs there before making its way through the canal. According to the link, Clipper Freeport is due there on the 27th. Maybe the link will update with the next stop after that.

I was trying to do the math and based on a price of $30 per million Btu, the cargo on the ship is worth somewhere around $50 million.
