Re: Cheap Eaten

Thank yo so much! Especially abut not adding it directly, great tip and saved me some trouble there. I think that would be a better way for me to save the eggplant for later as my freezer space is limited anymore. No dip in lemon juice before drying? Did you use a dehydrator, yes?

Re: Saving Eggplant Seed?

The male/female thing is why I first used quotes. I try to save seed from the fruits that had a longer blossom end scar as they seemed ( no science just seemed that way to me) to be "seeder" than the ones with either a short scar or a dot scar

Re: Saving Eggplant Seed?

It's been a long time ago, but did as many do on here to save the seeds, making sure to mark some of the "female" eggplants as they get seeder than the male ones. I used to let them get disgustingly soft and hey smelled bad, did it outside.

Re: Pimento Recommendaion?

I agree, almost any of the smallish cheese shaped peppers make great pimento cheese. If you want to try the elephant ear peppers, I bought seed and sure would share some with you, though they are new to me this year. I do also have some pimento cheese pepper seed if you want it, maybe a couple years...

Re: Cheap Eaten

That looks really good. So tell me I assume you have been where you live all your life. Just when in your life or year did this sort of thing start becoming popular where you live? In the 60's you couldn't find a hot pepper where I lived much less other tings. My mother was considered the queen of ...

Re: Cheap Eaten

Since it was Friday and Carl's Junior has the Famous Star burger on sale for $1.49 each, a friend and I had that for supper this evening. I have trouble eating a whole one, but they are so good and the fresh vegetables at the local Carl's are very fresh.

How pretty and yummy looking Brownrex! I like the filling combination, sounds like it would flavor and keep the chicken moist. You have so many great food ideas.

Lazy me, I am frying some italian sausage and cabbage and onions.

Re: Stochastic Contemplations.

Oh, yes, I have only gotten them from stores ever since I left home and the apple orchards and more, LOL, there. I suspect there are strains as well in some varieties and the ones for holding orever and shipping ability often are not the same factors that create good taste, just as in many store tom...

I don't knowingly eat either the Yellow or red delicious apples. To me, no taste and I do not like the texture at all. The reds are pretty, but that is all.
