Re: Do hot pepper leaves always contain capsaicin?

mo heat in the leaves. I have tasted them to see if I can taste hot sensation or not if I am questioning the plant... never found any of it to be hot. I have a couple superhots I can go try it on already knowing they are hot but I suspect not as the deer and tobacco worms find them appealing to mow ...

wow! this is absolutely disgusting and SAD! I am so sorry for every one of you gardeners. I participate in a community garden as a mentor and have planted extra plants in the empty plots just to use up the spaces so I am not worried if they get eaten off or even stolen because I wan't using them for...

Re: Stink bugs wreaking havoc on bell peppers

depends... have you heard of one called Mustang Max? it is a restricted spray for us and I assume every other state. I don't know how your state allows for spraying a restricted spray but it is a lifesaver of a spray. it stinks to high heaven but uses only 1/4 teaspoon for 4 gallons of water when we...

Re: How is the COVID-19 pandemic affecting you?

Ivermectin as described in the letter is exactly the kind of pharmaceutical I detest - by design it disables your own cells to strike at the invading organism. In other words, it makes you sick as well, and will seriously harm you if you take too much. The authors are right to caution about the 'ea...

Makes no sense to me why you be able unmask when seated for a place of worship, performance, etc. Its not the virus stops spreading when you sit down. Hope there is some serious social distancing there. The ones most needing to mask are the ones giving performance and it is very unlikely they will....

Re: which eggplant varieties to plant

@ddsack Your eggplants look wonderful! The correct spelling for Grandia is Gandia but go right ahead and call it Grandia because it is not at all what was pictured or described by nikitovka seeds. My plants that were labeled Gandia grew fruits that look the same as yours. To me, when I taste them r...

Re: Summer Corn.

so... We read that cutting the tassel off of each stalk will help keep the birds out of the corn. So, one day I was so mad at the birds I spent an hour and a half cutting off the tops of the corn. every row every stalk. what was I out to try? I possibly couldn't lose more corn doing that than lettin...

Re: A Hybrid That Is Better Than Big Beef

I will still take the big beef. I like pink tomatoes but I can't hardly sell them. I can't give out samples this year so I am stuck with any "new or weird" tomatoes to be tried at their expense or give away a whole tomato and they still can't be caught with a first eexpression on their face while sa...

250,000 expected to show up at the Biker rally in Sturgis S. Dakota. This is expected to be a "super spreader" event. It's just one thing after another.
oh, pity! we all know protests and riots don't spread the covid, just ask a governor :? ....... how could a rally be any different?.

Re: Summer Corn.

We grow two acres of corn in 6 different patches. We fence them with 3 strands of electric wire... Now the birds are in it. The starlings have ruined about 20% of the second patch. I am sure our neighbors love us. We put out the bird cannon. Every 5 minutes it sets off a blast to keep them out of th...
