Is there a limit on how many times a single post can be edited?

Well then, that gets me thinking about a new idea - "a composite wish list" for trading.

This would consist of a forum topic all of its own, just a wish list, no comments, no questions. Participants looking for special varieties would post to this master wish list.

Posting would consist of something along the lines of - variety, the user name of the requester (for contacting purposes), and the date of the post. Participants would be required to insert their requested variety in alphabetical order into that list. One year (or more?) from the posting date, out of date listings can be removed. And, participants receiving varieties would be expected to remove their listing.

Does this make sense, and can this be done?

Yes it can be done, the only problem I see is no comments, no questions. You'll have to make that clear and probably start a new thread for discussion. The discussion thread will be under the wish list topic in the same catagory and should work great. Tell me what to name it and where you want it located. Is this gonna be for all veggies?

I can also give you permission to remove posts from those threads if the participant doesn't delete it.

I played around and set it up for you, it's the last item in Gardening, you have permissions to edit and delete all posts in that catagory. Let me know what you want to name it and I'll make the changes.

You haven't asked for them yet! We had a question like this a couple years ago on Facebook and it went over great. Anyone could list up to 4 varieties that they were looking for. Turned into some great trades although it was aimed more at sharing. Any swapping was a bonus.

I have a question. Is this only for seeds? Can we ask for cuttings, rootings, tubers, plants, etc...? Another question...ANY kind of seed?

Read this topic again, I just added the conversation about making this section, it should explain everything.

It's Tormato's area so he'll need to answer on what goes on the wish list. If there's enough interest in a wish list thread we can make one in the seeds wanted section.

It'll be for everything, I suppose. (Where's the eyeroll emoji when you need it?) If there is going to be just one Master Wish List, it could get long. But, listing things in alphabetical order means breezing through the listings, hopefully.

There will have to be a priority. The tomatoes should be at the top of the list.

After that, do we go with other very popular items, like peppers next? And, then perhaps legumes, cucumbers, etc...? Or, should listings after tomatoes be categorized in alphabetical order?

Much like when I run a swap, I'll just be a host. It'll be your master wish list, so input is requested.

Here are two examples of a listing (to the soon coming Master Wish List) under tomatoes; with variety, username, and date of listing...

Rose - Tormato - 12/28/19

Any preference of the two, or other suggestions?

Name of the tomato in Bold type?
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter, that tells what kind of life you have lived.

I think the spaced hyphen is easier and more clear in meaning.

I was hoping this will be a spreadsheet layout with columns, automatically sorted on refresh by category, then cultivar name, requester name, date, etc. And the master sheet always stay on the first post, so no need to scroll down to find the latest updates.

Alex,

Do you come with English subtitles?

As a quasi-Luddite, I understand basically nothing you said (ask MissS ;) ). It sounds good, whatever it is.

The master sheet will eventually stay, and be, the first post, for it will be the only post, as all comments and questions will be deleted after we get to where we want to be.
