Hi,
Anyone growing or have grown Dr. Wyche's Yellow?
This is a new to me tomato. How tall does it get and is it reasonably productive? I was late starting this one. Saw it on a gardening show called Roots and Refuge Farm. The host, Jess really likes it. She said it was her favorite yellow tomato
Thanks for any feedback.

Well, I had the best intentions but my plant didn’t make it to flowering before dying of something or other.
I’ll try again next year and am hoping others had better experiences.

From what I remember, production for me was average and flavor was very good. Mine were almost orange when fully ripe.

As per cole-robbie's comments production average to slightly above, flavour good and ripening to the deep yellow/orange. Have grown it the last two years running, it did not like last years overcast cool and wet summer as well as the more typical hot summer of the year before, but that was typical of a lot of plants.

I have grown it twice, not the most productive for me, but the flavor was outstanding!

I have tried two years in a row now and failed.

Last year the plant turned out to be a red cherry - which I don't ever grow. Thinking it may be a stray seed or mismarked pack, I tried a new seed vendor this year. The seedlings all died before plant out.

Maybe it's not meant to be?

I haven't grown it, yet, but I have grown Sweet Ozark Orange a couple times, and it has good production. Dr. Wyche's Yellow is one of its parents. German Red Strawberry is its other parent. It had a decent-sized plant (but not extra large or anything). The fruits were all large and very meaty with lots of seeds. The taste and texture were pretty good. It performed well with lots of water one year and drought the next year.

Thanks Shule. I didn't know Dr. Wyche was a parent plant of Sweet Ozark Orange. I grew Sweet Ozark Orange a couple of years and liked it.
