Czechoslovak tomato Start F1

I would like to introduce you to my favorite variety tomato Start F1. I grow several plants every year because it is my tastiest variety. My friend RJGlew from Calgatra (1045 m) wrote:
"I have replaced all of my golf ball sized earlies like Fourth of July F1 and Early Treat F1 with Start S F1 since it is only a few days later, and the taste is very much better".
For me and many of us here in the Czech Republic, this tomato with a strong tomato taste and yet sweet enough is practically irreplaceable. I don't know the tastier red tomato. It's not an OP tomato, but I think it's really a legacy. This year he is 40 years old and despite the fact that a number of new hybrids have been bred in our country, none of them has reached the same taste quality as this veteran. Father - Bulgarian line M 21 with a strong aromatic taste, mother Stupice with RL.
It is a pity that this great tomato (it also has its flaws) is practically unknown in the world. I would like to allow those interested to grow this tomato and taste it. That is why I offer a few seeds to anyone interested. No exchange required.

A great 40 year old hybrid tomato out of the Czech Republic that no one has heard about ? A variety that can't be googled ? Can't be found on a Hybrid tomato registry ? smells fishy.

TomHillbilly There are many hybrids overseas we may not have heard about, but here is a link to one vendor with this one:
https://seemnemaailm.ee/en/tomato-start-s-f1.html#
The developer is Semo:
https://www.semo.cz/en/
And here is someone talking about it over on T-ville in 2016:
http://www.tomatoville.com/showpost.php ... tcount=166

Unfortunately, since the name is so generic it is hard to google it and get meaningful results. I think we should definitely be wary of seeds from overseas without much information, but I think this one has indeed been around a while so I am interested to try it.

Zendog-- thanks for the correction. I will delete out the tail end of my comment, because it is abrasive.

Vladimír that is a lovely looking tomato and you make it sound delicious. It is a rather hard variety to find on an internet search. I see that Moravo Seed carries it as well. This is a very generous offer that you are making. I think that people here will enjoy it.

I made an offer to send Start F1 tomato seeds on Tomatoville, on Facebook in the Our Tomatoes group and also here on Tomatojunction. Depending on my interest, I will buy Start F1 seeds in a shop from one of the companies selling these seeds, divide them into individual batches and send them to someone in the USA (Canada) who will be willing to work with me. They will be ready the way I used to send them to Tormat in his MMMM. Each of you would send a stamped envelope with your address and the person in question would forward the seeds to you. If there were few people interested, then about ten, I could send the seeds directly myself. I'll see.
Those who know me from Tomatoville certainly know that I would never offer any bad seeds. Yes, as someone wrote here, the name of this tomato is a bit unfortunate and nothing can be found in the English form on the Internet under this name, even though in 2015 I put this tomato in Tatiana´s TOMATObase.

PS.:An error crept in. It was supposed to be RJGlew from Calgary.

Start F1 is on my 2021 tomato list. Last year I had two another Czechoslovak great varieties : Brutus and Stupicke Polni Rane.

Try to find San Diego tomato seeds with a google search. It does well for me but I always have to get the plants at a local nursery as I can't find the seeds.

Vladimir, you sent seeds to me a few years ago in a trade; I don't remember what I sent you, other than some okras and a Claire Lynch CD ( hope you and your wife liked it :) ) - but I've been growing some of the varieties out (Fresa which I've lost seeds for, Bombeta, Jahodo, Rosa De Huesca, Zamorano) and just looking through my seeds I realize that Start F1 is the only variety you sent that I haven't tried yet! They're now in the 2021 box!!! Thanks for the reminder :D .

I'm going to set this one out. There is no such thing as a great hybrid tomato remaining top secret for 40 years. I don't care what country it is in.

I sent more than two thousand seeds of Start F1 to Canada on Friday. RJGlew offered to divide them into bags and distribute them both in Canada and the USA. I just need everyone who is interested to send me their address (if they haven't already sent it to me), and I'll give it to Robert.

I am currently registering 31 applications for sending Start F1 tomato seeds from Facebook, Toamtoville and Tomatojunction. Almost two thirds of the applications are from the American continent (Canada and the USA). R.J. Glew from Calgary, who offered to cooperate, would send them there. Today I will send him your postal addresses, the seeds are already on their way to Canada. I send seeds in Europe, or elsewhere. I am sending seeds elsewhere in Europe. The event does not end here, we have enough seeds and we will be happy to send them to anyone else.

I started two Start F1 seeds on February 7th, and one has sprouted already!

Looking forward to growing this one :).

Thanks again Vladimir and RJGlew.
