Hello

I bought tomatoes at a local Giant Food store which were labeled "heirloom". They were made in Mexico at Agro Dagosa farm according to label. I kind of like few fruit which look similar to Cherokee Purple and I saved few seeds. I wonder - should I wait for at least 6 month for the seeds to germinate of I can try to start them in a few days after they are dry for a week?

You could try them straight away, they do not need to dry. I have been known to squeeze seed straight onto the top of seed starting mix. Drying is mainly to prevent the seed from germinating or becoming infected during storage
