Alpine strawberries freshen air!
So, I put about eight Reine Des Vallees alpine strawberries (many of them had dried on the plant) in a bowl in a warm bedroom for about twelve hours. I had them there for the seeds to plant later. I came back and the whole room smelled like strawberries! At first I was wondering what happened, but then I saw and remembered the bowl.
Has anyone else noticed this quality of theirs? They should put them in potpourri or something.

I think that any stawberry will do that. I noticed their fragrance when I left three large ones on the kitchen conter for later eating. Every time I entered the room I noticed the smell until one time I just ate them.

Sounds like a great idea, if I can keep from eating them!

I think the effect only lasted a day or so, unfortunately. Fortunately, it doesn't take a lot of berries, and alpine types often have new ones on them somewhere.
