Back on the 80s if you were there I can assure you that you certainly must have seen me on my Harley storming up and down the drag and other side streets a time or two.
Sometimes I would ride down and pick my wife up from school at UT.
Skinny, long hair devil goatee might have been me.
The east side as you knew it is slowly but very surely going away.
More apartments.

worth1 Funny you mentioned Harleys and riding. One distinct memory from 21st and Nueces was of a rider screaming down south on Nueces and doing the fanciest maneuver ever to avoid t-boning a car coming along east on 21st. I still don’t understand how the motorcycle rider and motorcycle avoided that crash, looked like an absolute certainty.

Well since where I live is also where I work I thought I would show y'all a little of what I do.
This is the sprinkler riser room that is at the bottom of the building I took the previous pictures from on the roof.
Everything you see all the valves and pump controller get monitored by us.
I'm by myself in here wiring everything up and testing.
It's a lot of wiring.

Mr. Doss! Nice photos. Looks like you do nice, clean work. Have you started/finished your chili roaster? These greens and carrots survived this first snowfall weeks before Snowmageddon.

Back to the beach on this 1st day of spring. Herring bring everything to life here on the coast. Herring milt and spawn turn the waters a beautiful turquoise color for a while. Eventually, thousands of eggs are washed up on the beaches along with the seaweed to create the great stink for a while. No seaweed gathering allowed during herring season.
Once I found some eggs on seaweed on a beach reminding me of how, years ago, someone from a small island told me that he would gather egg coated seaweed (sea lettuce type) and dry it for winter use as food. Delicious he said. I don't think that's allowed now.

Beach rocks look like this, here. When I first got to tis coast I was amazed that rocks weren't all brown.

Some fallout from the herring season is that any large roofs, usually public buildings, get covered in seagulls.
We have another name for these ____ hawks.

Then, there are the sealions. Much larger than seals with huge voices that carry up the hill from the beach for a km, at least. When friend and I went to this next place the dog went AWOL just as we neared the site. Dog was scared of all the noise and he could probably smell the beasts too though we could not.

At a place called North West Bay, a log sorting ground, there are log booms in the water that the sealions like to use. There is a trail along the industrial road and we can get down there on weekends to the end of the road and look down to see them. They are still some distance away. We don't go near any docks or equipment but they do!

They look aggressive but there is no blood apparent, only lots of noise.

My work involves only the contact wires to the valves and water flow switches.
Quite confusing to someone that is new to the trade.
So much so I have had to go back and rewire everything some other people did on the last three make that four jobs I was on.
Don't understand what the problem is other than stupidity.
As for the chili pepper roaster I have yet to finish the main grill assembly.
It was either weather related or laziness as an excuse.

Those chili roasters are one of the many attractions of the Farmer’s market in Santa Fe, NM. Santa Fe might be mostly all HOITY-TOITY, but the vendors and farmers manning the stalls seem anything but. I’ve never examined the roasters up close to see how they work, hard to tell what’s going on with the crowds and constant motion. Seems like propane and propane burners were part of the mix. Maybe there are electric versions.

Roasted Chili peppers are wonderful to smell. There at the market, you can get a number of different types of peppers freshly roasted. I don’t know how any other state can beat New Mexico on the variety and quality of chilis. Anyone who is a fan of chilis needs to make a trip to New Mexico and see it for themselves.

Hi Harry. What is in the images is rare on most of this island.
You'd be welcome, just bring your rain gear!

This is a view across the bay to where I live now. There is my street, Hwy 1, then the dunes and bay. I am less than 0.1 mi from the ocean. We have three months of solid fog - June Gloom, No Sky July, and Fogust.

Then there is what is across the street from me. This is what it there. We hear the waves 24/7 and sometimes they shake the house lol.
