Very good production for this large/ late variety. Very juicy and full of seeds. Various sizes but all quite large. Branches needed extra support. Taste is very good. Balanced flavor. Will grow again next season for sure. This variety also has 1884 Purple which is just as good tasting but much smaller in size.

I'm growing both the 1884 Pink and 1884 Purple this year. Grew 1884 Pink last year as well and it was a great producer and tasted great.

Are the tastes of 1884 Pink and 1884 Purple very similar? I was sort of hoping the 1884 purple would taste more like a purple or dark tomato just to give me more variety. Either way I'm sure I'll enjoy both.

Yes, 1884 Purple does taste as a "black or purple" tomato would with all the juicy and earthy tastes...plus with just a little more acid taste vs. the 1884 pink which is a balanced and good flavor.
