Orange trees are in full bloom

The kumquat tree still has fruit

Like a produce section, there's the kumquat, orange and loquat in the back and the old oak tree in the background.

This is a different orange tree that is absolutely loaded with flowers, I'll probably have to remove fruit because the branches will be on the ground or broken.

Look at all those flower petals

Here's a new kumquat tree bought 2 years ago and is doing well, these are sweet versus the other tree which is sour and taste like a Calamansi. The skin is sweet but the pulp is almost as sour as lemon or lime.

Yes it does, the fragrance is amazing. Too bad it doesn't last longer.

Wow, I could take that in all day.

Rajun Gardener The fact that it doesn't last that long makes it that much more special when it does.

Beautiful. Green for us in PA right now means that we might be able to start mowing the grass soon but we actually look forward to that!

Looking really good Rajun, don't often see Loquats here and the few you see about never have that crop density

Ahh, it's been many years since I was in a yard filled with the fragrance of orange blossoms. They are just heavenly. Your yard is wonderful and I wish that I were there sitting in it now.

My mint is coming up - about 3 weeks earlier than usual. Not much else, except chives and weeds.

Those are beautiful fruit trees and your yard looks perfect for strolling about while taking it all in.

Do you thin the fruit on any of your citrus trees? I’m looking at an explosion of lemons and limes and wondering if I should thin. It will take a lot of time when there’s so many other gardening chores to do.

PlainJane I don't do anything to them except fertilize twice a year. In Spring and Fall I toss about 3 cups of triple 13 around the tree. I notice every year that the tree will only make what it can, some fruit will just drop on it's own but there's always enough to share. It's really the perfect tree, it self regulates and doesn't need pruning. If you do prune it's just for the owner to make it look pretty but it's not required.
