For the absentee ballots your signature has to match your drivers license perfectly or it gets rejected.
They said a lot of ballots have been rejected already.
I just scribbled my name on the license when I got it last month because I thought it would never be used for anything.

I remember when they talked to signature experts on the show pawn stars, even the experts would say that there is no way to tell with 100% certainty that any one signature is valid. If you ever get something autographed, ideally you would also want to get a picture of the person signing or other documentation.

I hope they give feedback on rejected ballots
You may never know if your vote was counted.

Do yourselves a favor, lay off the news for a week or only a weekend, watch cooking videos, cook or do something else and see how much better your outlook on life is.

It depends on the state. Here in California we can get feedback. I signed up for ballot tracking with the state service where's my ballot?. We received notification when ballots were mailed. Then my better half received notification that her ballot had been returned/received and would be counted. Then a few days later I received the same notification. My guess is the computer that first looks at the signature kicked mine out for a human look which caused the delay. My signature would not be easy to compare with a computer because it is not very detailed. I did look at my license before signing to get an idea of my signature as it has changed over the years. I don't know what they have on record.

This may be an improvement. In previous years I was in the dark. Many but not all states required the voter to be notified if there is a problem. This year I am very satisfied with their feedback.

Hubby and I will be voting in person. I don't know why some people are afraid to vote in person but then they will go to Walmart.

I mostly shop online for non food items but I do go to grocery stores. I limit my exposure to others and do not consider voting in person any more risky than grocery shopping.

I will use the Dropbox,so mail isn't a factor.
I had to use the Dropbox to request a ballot.

I hear a lot more people sneezing in public, even with masks on.
I try to duck and cover and try to outrun it.
I walked into a fart zone many times,so the mask is useless against those particles.
I hope covid particles are larger.

I voted today. Usually I vote at a public library, but due to the pandemic it was closed except for "no contact curbside holds pick-up." Not sure what that means exactly.... The nearest voting location from the library was a mosque. Never voted at a mosque before, but there's a first time for everything, right?

I didn't need my voter registration card, only my driver's license. I was given an alcohol swab to wipe down the machine's input area and a finger cot for the finger I was going to use to press the buttons. Of course masks and social distancing were required. I felt safe.

Hats off to all who go to vote. Whatever the outcome, it is a freedom we all live by and are privileged to have but must be so difficult at this time. Long live democracy.

Voting in person with the wife on Wednesday, that’s the plan. First couple days of early voting were said to be queues out the door and well into the parking lot long. Drove by the civic center today and it didn’t look very busy at all.

I’ll wear my mask going in and sanitize my hands afterwards, pretty much like every other trip into a publicly accessible building. This mask up stuff is standard and routine by now, like going to Aldi or something.

Yes indeed, hats off to voters however they vote. Some people are not comfortable with going out to polls or even to shop. I can't imagine what my Mom would do if we had an election now. I guess if there was a mail or electronic option she would do that instead. We always go to vote together. I don't think we ever missed an election at any level of government, no matter how dim the prospects. Voting is not just a privilege but a duty if you truly value democracy. Well it is a bit more than a duty, because you do get satisfaction for having said your part.
And that is a joke because, I can't explain why I have burned my vote on parties that don't get elected, time after time. It doesn't matter, somebody somewhere was glad to count my vote. :) Take heart! :) It is worth voting whether you win or not. Be counted.

Bars are back to being closed and indoor dining is prohibited in my region, according to my state's governor today. Groups are now allowed in 25 people, down from 50.

I voted last week in our provincial election in the advance poll just to avoid crowds on election day. It took about 5 minutes from the time I arrived . There was only one other voter ahead of me in the huge room. Everything is easier early in the day.
How anyone can see if a person matches their photo ID while wearing masks is beyond me but I guess if all the other info matches, no problem.

TSA (airport screeners) request that passengers lower their face masks briefly to match the photo id to the person standing in front of them. I doubt but wonder if anything like that will be going on at the various election locations.

I am watching the news as I read the forum and in Washington they just found large trash bags with mail and ballots in them that were stolen from a mailbox. Firefighters also had to put out a fire in a Ballot collection box in Los Angeles.

I had to lower my mask when I checked into the voting center and presented my driver's license. It was only for a few seconds.
