For the past 40 years, I've had a small vegetable garden 40' X 60'.
Now, due to a severe back problem which restricts my ability :? , I'm only doing a few plants, mostly in containers.
I'll be trying to learn the best methods (soil, varieties, watering, etc) for container growing of tomatoes, peppers, squash, etc. :D
I look forward to learning and maybe helping some here at tomatojunction. :D :) 8-)

Hi Duck, I feel I'm greeting myself since that's what my family calls me! :D

Welcome to the Junction; lots of container people hereabouts. Hope you have a great transition from ground to containers!

Hello and Welcome to TJ! I have learned that growing in containers is far different than growing in a garden. We have some amazing members that do a fantastic job growing in containers. I'm sure that they can teach you a lot.

Welcome, Duck, from NE PA. Good luck with your containers. Moving more in that direction as well. I use more and more Earthboxes and Grow Pots along with the straw bales which are a container in themselves. Much easier on the back once they are in place!

Hi Duck, and welcome! Sorry to hear about your back. I grow solely in containers due to the limited space we have (small patio). Those tomatoes taste just as good! :-)

Hello Duck. I used to till and plant several huge tracts on my land. But alas, my knees have caused me to shift to a combination of containers and several accessible raised beds. I still manage to grow a LOT of veggies though and save seeds as well. One of my projects in the next few weeks is to start rejuvenating last year's potting soil so that it's ready to go again. I find that fertility and moisture retention without being water logged grows the healthiest plants in addition to working with dwarf and compact varieties best adapted for containers.
