Dehydrating sweet corn?

I just got a Nesco dehydrator. Can't wait to try it out. But I am wondering if it is even possible to dry sweet corn? Our local farm market has a late crop of corn coming in a week or so. If possible I would like to dry it, if I can be reasonably assured it will be useable once rehydrated for things like soups and casseroles etc.

I've never tried it, but I don't see why not. You should be able to dehydrate just about anything, if it'll stay on the trays. I'm thinking about dehydrating and powdering our Jerusalem artichokes, this year (that's one way to ensure we use them). I haven't tried it before, though, but I'm excited.

Oh, wait. I asked someone who has done it before about it, and she said it doesn't taste very good rehydrated. I'm not sure what temperature she used to dehydrate it.

Shule Well it was worth a shot. OK I'll stick to plan A and just freeze it. Thank you for finding out for me!

I agree with that. Besides, they really stick to your teeth! Better to freeze.

Wouldn't it be easier just to let it dry on the cob.
Whatever the case it wont be sweet anymore.
