Corn advice needed please

With the garden expansion in progress at home, I am looking to select several different varieties of corn to grow. Our needs are mainly fresh eating, popcorn and baby corn. I was wondering if some of the more experienced corn growers amongst my more northern friends would object to having a look at the following Aussie seed sites and making some suggestions.. With the rush that has obviously occurred on seed here as well as elsewhere, I am more than happy to take suggestions that are not currently available and try them down the track.

The sites that I am considering using are

Boondie Seeds boondieseeds.com.au
Green Harvest greenharvest.com.au
Southern Harvest southernharvest.com.au
The Lost Seed thelostseed.com.au
The Seed Collection theseedcollection.com.au

My thanks in advance to anyone who takes up my request

My only advice is don't mix F1's with open pollinated when you are planting. you don't want cross pollination to happen. you have so few to choose from I would say tray any of them.

I heard you dont want to grow popcorn around any other corn.

My husband's grandmother had a couple of different garden plots a little distant from each other. She grew her popcorn in one and her sweet corn in the other with lots of other stuff in between the 2, so I would recommend if you do grow both to distance them from each other.

You can plant different corns as long as you stagger the plantings so that maturities are at least 2-3 weeks apart if the DTM are about the same. Or get corn varieties with very different DTMs. That includes popcorn. I like to do a short DTM and a late DTM and also put a planting stagger between the two. You want one to finish tasseling before the next one starts. Haven't had any cross pollination.

If you dwell near other people. And the birds wipe you out. Stop and thank all your neighbors that are feeding seed eating birds. The kinda birds with hard becks, that often attack soft beck, insect eating bird's nests.
PS-- No, I can't grow corn because of it.
