T is for trellis.

I just went a bit over the top this year with my cucumber trellis. Was tired of them quickly out growing their 5 foot cage. So, this year I added another five feet, plus 2 feet, for a total of 12 feet from the ground to the top of the T. I think I'm finished, but this year you never know :D

I was going to ask how you will be able to pick your cucumbers but I see that you keep your ladder close at hand to help you tend to that plant.

Thanks all.

Growing Coastal ....It almost is later in the season ;) Have already fought a round of worms, and having a continuous battle with leaf disease. It's been about 6 weeks so far. Had a round of female blossoms before the bumblebees found them, and my hand pollination was partially successful. Now it's loaded with blossoms and the bumblebees are working it every morning. They are all pickling cucumbers, and with luck we'll get enough for a few batches.

That's an amazing cuke trellis! You should be having cukes out the wazoo. I'm wondering if the vines are so dense the bees can't get to all of the flowers. Be careful on that ladder! :D

What materials did you use to build this structure? Has anybody else tried different ways of building a trellis for cukes?

Oh! I was hoping to see cukes hanging from the top tier.

Looking good.
I grew mine like you would for grapes in a vineyard.

Bower's squirrel comment will have me laughing the rest of the day. It's a very nice trellis, and I take nothing from it.
But in the light of Bower's comment---have a laugh on me.
I used to grow cucumbers on the chain link fence. I had nice fruit hanging down along that fence. But for some reason those cucumbers stank with a foul odor. I'd row them up in the front of my shirt to carry them inside everyday. My shirt would stink so bad, I'd have to change it. I asked others if their cucumber smelled bad that year. Mine had been stinking the past few years.
One day while outside, I happened to notice a line of stray dogs and cats that was walking the outside of my chain link fence. It had become the major scent marking territory for every free running pet within miles. LOL
