Wet here overnight, nearly 1.5 inches, giving us over 4 inches for the month so far with more to come. Not sure how much further east into the foregone it has gone through

They're still digging out in Newfoundland but some are having a good time, regardless.

It's 16 degrees outside (61 F), we were sitting in the sun and drinking coffee, with no jacket on. In January!

Re: How's your weather?
Another storm here but from the south. Very gusty and changed to rain about an hour ago. So we're hoping that will just get rid of the first half (white stuff!).
No groundhogs saw their shadow here today. No groundhogs anyway, but if we did, they would not have seen daylight! Too foul out there for anyone to wrassle them out of their holes!
Although it is traditional to prognosticate the weather for the winter on this day, I would rather not. I hear it's wrong 50 percent of the time anyway.

75˚F here and beautiful...but Tuesday is going to be in the 20's with snow. Seven more weeks till Spring arrives and it can't get here fast enough!

Re: How's your weather?
I mowed the lawn today, during February, in Ohio. Thanks global warming.
Also I was excited to pick some mache (corn salad). I don't know if these are supposed to be too mature. It tastes horrible. Doesn't taste nutty or like clover to me, more like soap with floral scent. It have a flowery taste to it, felt like eating flower petals.

Corn salad isn't supposed to taste like that.

Re: How's your weather?
Yesterday we got into the 80's, but Wednesday we shall have snow and sleet , predictions running from 4 inches to 9 inches depending on the USA or European models. Me, I am planning to just stay home Wednesday and make some beans and ham stuff. Wednesday's high is supposed to be 30F, so indoors and hearty foods.

Re: How's your weather?
Update, now instead of 25F for the low on Wednesday, it is dropped to 18F and the possible snow is now estimated between 5 to 9 inches. May have sleet to start with, then snow. Not as bad as Christmas Eve '09, but with the lack of skilled bad weather drivers here and I think we have a total of 3 maybe 4 dump trucks that double as snow plows, it will be interesting Wednesday.
I shall pick up a few more items today and plan to be snug at home to enjoy the weather event.

Re: How's your weather?
As people here are recovering from heavy rains last week there is now a snowfall warning but it won't stay with more rain following closely. Last month was a record month for rain. Only one rain-free/snow-free day in all of January. Many lost power and some still don't have it. People have been flooded out of their homes and may not be able to return for a while. Septic fields affected, too.
Not likely to get much snow down here at sea level but there is a skiff of snow on everything this a.m. And hopefully, we'll never get as much snow as Newfoundland!

Re: How's your weather?
Yesterday and today have been beautiful and mid 70's. However there's a cold front coming through and the first of the rain might be coming in tonight. Clouds are already arriving. Thursday is supposed to be extremely wet (maybe 2" here) with the possibility of severe weather. I've been out yesterday and today prepping beds before they get too wet to mess with again.

Well, woke up and things are looking white outside, not sure how much as yet, just looked quickly and headed back to the warm bed!

Smoky haze back here again, more upper level but still enough about to affect Jaden's asthma. Been relatively cool here and certainly wetter than normal, around double what we would expect for this time of year rainfall wise. Slowing the tomatoes up a lot.

Re: How's your weather?
Today, the weather man on TV said that this January has been the warmest January ever worldwide since records started in 1881, here in Germany 2,3°C warmer than it should have been. And there are still people who ignore the climate change...

Re: How's your weather?
Clara, I read the other day that Northern Europe is expected to stay warmer than normal until April. Apparently they're getting better at the long term forecasts.

I guess all we can do is enjoy the good bits and batten the hatches for the rest of it. I hope you get enough rain in the summer to have good crops!

Re: How's your weather?
Overcast and cold but the humidity is way up and now, a bit after getting up, its raining some quite cold water off and on. I said water as we may be getting a bit of sleet. Gray and sullen sky. The wind chill is making it at 29F here now.

Big wet has hit the east coast of Oz, parts of NSW have had upto 16 inches in last 4 days, putting out fires burning for 75 plus days. We have been getting rain in Vic also, just not in those amounts over fire grounds
