Well, Cap'n, you made me feel better about our weather. A mere 5-8 inches tomorrow here.

Don't you just love a forecast like "1 to 16 inches" of whatever? Weather roulette.

My son is in Franklin MA and is expecting 9-12 inches of snow there with a lot of wind. Not too far away, 25 miles as the crow flies, 40k, in Worcester, pronounced “Wuster” or “Wusta” they are expecting 11-15”. Worcester always seemed to get a little more snow when I lived up there.

But, these snow storms hardly ever seem to line up exactly as predicted. An extra inch equivalent in rain means, what, another 10-12” of snow?
Zone 9b, located in the Columbia bottomlands, annual rainfall 46”

It's been a tough one to call. The latest is 8" to 24", with a best guess range of 12" to 18". I don't mind the inches, I just hope they're right and it's the fluffy stuff.

Well, you can keep it, do enjoy! Just hope it's not headed our way. I just looked at the satellite image, I guess it's expected to veer out to sea and miss us completely, according to the forecast. We are still affected by the big swirly thing now going north of us with hurricane force winds, it was certainly gusty last night and today but happily no loss of power here.
There's a chance of warm and wet weather in the days up to Christmas, which I'll be happy enough if we get it. No sentimental feeling for the white stuff. ;) I enjoyed my first shovel of the season though. :) I still have snow on the garden but none in the driveway, and that's the perfect combo.

They don't seem to be in any hurry to plow the roads.
Probably covid related to keep you in the nest.Still snowing.
I forgot the formula when it snows faster than plows can keep up, in inches per hour.
They are probably just waiting til it stops.

It's cold and damp here, the kind that just gets into your bones. I'd much rather have snow! Fat chance.

Well it was a little above freezing judging from the runoff dripping off the eaves after the flurries this afternoon, when my dear friends came for their annual xmas tree hunt. Too many flurries to set up a table outside so I made a mini-bar in the porch to pour them a glass of wine and served some warm Jamaican patties handed over in a paper bag. Not much wind so no windchill to speak of, standing out for a chat and a nosh on the steps. The usual sweet treats were bundled in a bag and passed at arms length instead of sitting spread upon the table for our hours long chat... The snow was not too deep for ankle boots and they opted for small tree, always a sweet smell the balsam fir when cut is a treasured moment. It was not too bad for xmas pandemic style 'outside the bubble'. We all agreed that we would not be sorry for following the rules. Looking forward to next year though, a return of the warmer tradition.

For a forecast that said we were going to have a dry winter we sure are getting a lot of rain.
This is amazing.
Right now it is a steady rain with thunder and lightning.
Can't be more welcomed.
Ruined plans but we need the rain.
