I got a bent one like that, too, this year. I figured it was one that the squirrels messed with since they dug in my garden before I got the mulch on.

I used the sharpie trick that pepperhead suggested to label my garlic. Works well.
So far I have harvested all of my Blossoms, a few Metechi, Oregon Blue, Persian Star, and Purple Glazer. These were ones that were turning brown faster than the others. The rest are still in the ground. I'm checking on a daily basis to see which should be harvested next.

WoodSprite somebody dug a clove out of my main crop bed before I had it covered too. I went out and found the clove lying on top. I poked it back in where I thought it came from... not! Come spring I saw two garlics growing cheek by jowl, and an empty space in another row.
