The garden of Woz......

Welcome to the next edition of the Garden of Woz folks. This one will obviously have a strong tomato flavour at the appropriate time of year, currently lots flowering but not a lot of fruit set, mainly due to the strong winds that we have been having here, winds that we more typically associate with September, or as some of the older generation used to refer to it as Splittimber, as that was the time of year that trees were normally blown over.

Other plants that will feature include various lilies, gladioli and Aussie Natives, as there flowering season permits. Frogs and Stick Insects will also be featured.

On the weather front the year started off very dry, only 4 inches of rain in the first four months or about 40% of normal. May was rather wet, August our wettest month in the 15 years we have been here by 2 inches and November, with 7 inches refilled the ground nicely. We are now sitting probably 3 inches above average, while most of the country would be lucky to have had 50% of it average. Severe bushfire are burning in various parts of Australia well before they normally do.

This year's growing season is off to a cool start locally due to the rain and temperatures around 20C that we are experiencing mostly. Need to some days around 30C to really get the plants cranking. A few 38C days, around the 100F mark, coming up will help a bit.
Must get my new pump setup.

Lillies, as these start to flower, I will post with comments about how well the plants have multipled if they are carried over from last season as seen in TV. First up, a white with dark spots. This plant has not multipled but is much stronger with more flowers than last year

Next to flower is a purplely-pink, last year one bulb planted put up two growths, both of which replaced themselves, so two very strong growths this year, one with 18 buds, the other 20,

Thanks Godawgs and PlainJane. Will keep a thread running, not sure if it will be here or on TV itself since Mischka has decided to keep it up. In Rajun's court to some extent

I love seeing all of your flowers. They are so lovely. I grew the Sprekelia formosissima for many years but lost it when I moved.

With the establishment of the glogs subforum, is it possible to move this thread into that forum, seems to be a more appropriate place for it me thinks

Fell it is more appropriate to have this thread here rather than in the general discussion section now that glogs is established, so some coping first before we move onto some more current photos.
