Farewell to my dear friend Ted Maiden aka Container Ted. He was a champ at growing and backyard breeding. He will be sorely missed.

I am very sad that Ted is no longer among us. He was a longtime friend to me and we shared a lot of varieties, but also private news. So I knew that he was very ill, but had hoped he would overcome this illness as he had overcome other serious health problems in the past. We had worked on a commun project, a cherry which we called after my youngest grandson, "Henry's Sunshine Cherry". But when after the final stabilization, I sent him seeds and he did not start them, I knew that it was really bad... Ted told me not to reveal it to anybody; he did not want to get a lot of mails because of his illness.

Ted, I'll miss you and will never forget you, nor will Henry. He is so proud of his own tomato!

I read a lot of his posts over the years, but did not know him personally.
Rest in Peace.
My condolences to all that knew him.

What a huge loss. I enjoyed his posts (and will continue to enjoy them in the old posts). Condolences to those that were friends with him off the web.

We never did get around to drilling and tapping that new hole in his pressure cooker.
Something we discussed off line.
I know he was feeling pretty bad from his cancer treatments.
It doesn't say what he passed away from but I bet it was the cancer.
I frigging hate cancer.
