Ever See Such A Thing?

I've had horrible luck with one of my faves, Jersey Devil, the past two (2) seasons.

I finally get one to sprout this year, and after it popped the cotyledons, it sent up a straight, tendril-like shoot, and then just froze in time.

i have a redfield cherry like that right now.
a little green shoot in the middle, but no growing tip.
its the only one that sprouted, so i am keeping it alive to see
if any growth comes from the joint of the cotyledons.

I kept one of those alive for 40 days, with no growth from the joint, then l finally gave up.

With measured reluctance, I cut bait today.

Another group I'm on has had a few of those mentioned. Mostly they don't ever do anything but I think one eventually sprouted true leaves. I've never seen one of those myself.

might be something happening with mine.
there is a little bump or callous on one side with a light spot.
don't know if that will become a new shoot or not, but its something
at any rate. will update.

my redfield cherry mutant has sprung a sprout from the joint of a cotyledon.
not from the side i thought something was going to happen. that side has a green
wart like bump that isn't doing anything. the sprout is somewhat twisted and contorted
but there is a growth tip, so i just have to wait for it to continue to grow. this plant will
prolly go in a pot. its so far behind that i may have to move it should the temps get too
cold before tomatoes ripen. its a project.

There's some road sign advertising for a BBQ place going from Houston to Dallas.
One of them says I never sausage a thing.
The thread title reminds me of it.
