Favorite Dwarf Project Cherry Tomatoes?

Hope everyone is well. I haven't been able to find any threads specifically discussing experiences with growing the new Dwarf Tomato Project cherry tomatoes. Probably because they are so new.

Our tomato summer is being cut short by disease. We were out of town for 2 weeks and, well, long story short, they suffered. I'm trying to salvage the season, but I'm already looking to this fall.

The reasons I want to try some dwarf cherries are 1) my wife loves cherry tomatoes, and 2) our Black Cherry plant got HUGE. We only grow in containers because our patio is paved.

Maglia Rosa is one of our favorites, although not from the Dwarf Project. We've grown a few other dwarfs, but I want to try a couple of the new dwarf cherry varieties. I'd love to hear which ones have done well for you, in terms of production and taste, that you would recommend. Thanks in advance! :)

I will second that Velvet Night. Tried it for the first time last year and it was the only one of my tomatoes that survived the accidental herbicide in the potting mix. Beautiful color, great flavor! This was an average tomato on the plant at 1.4 oz.

Got another one going this year.

Thanks, all! I appreciate the responses and for sharing your experiences.

@Josetom - I'd love to hear how those do for you!

@GoDawgs - I'm sorry to hear about the herbicide damage. That is really awful.

Real world experiences are the most valuable. I'm always skeptical about seed vendor's descriptions, which are pretty much all positive. I try to focus on the attributes I'm searching for, looking for keywords like 'sweet', 'productive', etc.

Dwarf Eagle Smiley and Johnson's Cherry have been on my radar. And now, I have added Velvet Night. Bundaberg Rumball is another I'm considering, as well as some yellow cherries like Dwarf Bendigo Moon and Moby's Cherry. Looks like it's time to put in another order. ;)

Don't forget that any descriptions of tomatoes (sweetness, acidity, etc) will always vary due to individual palates and how the tomatoes were grown. But I hope you find Velvet Night as tasty as I have. :)

Here are my cherries from the DTP planted on 14 March (4 months old plants) in 7 gallon containers

1st ripen: Velvet Night, more like a cocktail really

2nd ripen: Eagle Smiley, this should have been the first, but the stem broke

3rd: Johnson's Cherry

Just added Velvet Night to my list of dwarfs mainly because of the picture and I trust your recommendation. Already have Eagle Smiley on the list.
