Hurricane Milton.
Seriously, now we have yet another cat 5 storm predicted to hit The Tampa Bay area.
Just two weeks after the last storm.
Tampa Bay hasn't seen a major storm in over 100 years.
It's also a highly populated area with all manner of people living there including military.
Not good due to an already stressed out FEEBLE FEMA from the previous storm.

Stay safe those of you on Florida whom might be in it path. Really going to test out your services and not in a good way I fear.

Hopefully the Air Base will fly the expensive planes and people out of harms way.

Re: Hurricane Milton.
a local missonary has a daughter in st pete. i spoke with her the other day. she asked about my son.
they were trying to determine the best place for the daughter to go. maybe come home here for a bit.
no hurricanes here. too soon for snow. its safer here.

Re: Hurricane Milton.
I wonder if running towards Miami and hunkering down in that area isn’t such a bad idea? Otherwise, I think anyone in the Tampa/St.Pete area might have to go all the way to the Florida Panhandle to be reasonably out of the worst of the danger. The problem with Miami is if the storm track is more to the south of Tampa, then that Miami area gets more of the bad weather. I imagine flights out Orlando/Tampa/St. Pete. are hard to come by at this point. So are likely rental cars.
Tuesday, today, is the day I would think to make the necessary moves to safety. Tomorrow is really too late.

Re: Hurricane Milton.
One thing is for certain there isn't any lateral escape from the hurricane.
You either go north or south and south is a trap if you ask me.
I would have packed up at least 2 days ago and headed north to hopefully beat traffic.
If I lived in Florida I would definitely get a small canned ham camper trailer to live out of instead of a refugee camp or an expensive hotel room.
And keep it stocked with food and essentials including my guns for protection from criminals that seem to come with natural disasters.
Nothing worse than trying to escape a hurricane too late.
When they evacuate the Houston area you can't get to Austin by way of highway 71 or 290 the traffics backed up so bad.
