Super way to start a day, rxkeith !

Not being political I think, but maybe a sort of karma ? For being a really horrible person who did a horrible thing to what was still a pup.

Kristi Noem, head of Homeland Security and the one who said she took the 1 year old dog over the hill and shot her because she didn't hunt, had her purse stolen from under her chair, supposedly with 3 grand cash, her HS ID and drivers license in it. She was at a restaurant, seated in the chair when it happened and had a security detail.

1) Is she going to take her security detail over the hill and shoot them?
2) maybe the dogs' spirit came back and took her purse to chew it up.
3) the lady claims she had 3 grand in cash to pay to feed and entertain her grandchildren....must have been a lot of really hungry kids is all I can say !

The purse was worth more than the money in it.
Over 4 thousand dollars.
I wonder if this clown knew who he was ripping off before he opened it.
It had all her information in it including passport and government id badge credit card drivers license etc.
Secret service has some explaining to do.

Just so long as Noem doesn't ask them to go over a hill...

I worked with a rancher that shot one of his cow dogs because it wouldn't stop chasing cows.
It was ruining his other dog too.
Farm life is a lot different than city life.
To many a dog is a tool not a pet.
The reason many folks don't give them away is they don't want the bad habits to be passed down to other generations.

I've worked with a few dogs, chasing the cows is a needed instinct to make a great herding dog, one has to train and channel those desires. Being raised on a farm, as so many were of my generation, with livestock, yes, dogs were a useful and needed tool around the place. If the trainer is not a good fit for that dog, the dog fails.

But a dog that is just a year old is still a pup, especially bird dogs. Spay and neuter is a great way to not pass on any undesirable genes.

Yep, nothing will make a rancher madder than dogs or hooligans needlessly chasing cows around. All that additional energy expended to avoid harassing dogs or dumb@sses is literally money out of the rancher’s pocket. Calm cows = fat cows, fat cows >skinny cows at auction, plus pregnant cows don’t need the extra stress.

My dad when he had a little herd of beef cows went ballistic on some kids that got into the pasture with motorcycles and harassed the herd. Dad would tell me to shoot any dogs chasing his cattle, the dogs weren’t supposed be on his land chasing his cows and if the dog owners could not control their dogs tough luck. I hated every minute I had to deal with those cows. Nothing ever went according to plan.

Dad’s a little more sanguine about these things now.

I took an interesting flight last night.
Polished floor, used Bounce pad, I stepped on it and flew a few feet, it was a bumpy landing but made it in one piece. The landing was not the issue it was what I landed on that made it memorable. I missed my Chihuahua puppy by a few inches so lucky there, however the glass of cranberry juice I was carrying looked much better in it's glass than on the wall so that annoyed me somewhat. I need to check out cranberry juice, It has stained the wall badly so goodness only knows what it does to my stomach lining,

Note to me.. Be careful when walking near laundry room door, as my sit upon doesn't want to be sat upon right now.

Glad you and the puppy are pretty much okay, and the wall the only casualty.

Yes, stray dogs running stock end up being shot often, because people are sometimes fools about taking good care with their pets. The dog pays the price for being themselves, and the humans who should have controlled them get off scot free. Different than killing a pup for not hunting well or at all.
