I had the same experience with San Marzano, many years ago, and was the last roma I have grown. No special flavor, and had less w/o BER than all those with!

Etter's Big Heart of Color it is the very first time in my life that I had a plant that did not produce a single fruit to harvest. Definately a poor producer. One small fruit on the plant when it was time to pull it and it was not big enough to try to save seed from.

Cosmic Cream Centriflor lovely plant well behaved bush with high production. Lovely dark antho covered grape tomatoes. BUT sooo firm and crunchy it was impossible for me to tell when ripe until they started to dry on the counter... I did save seeds from a few and will send in a couple of packets for others who may want that type of tomato.

Dr. Wyche’s Yellow: Just didn't like the taste.

Gelbe Rispe (yellow micro): The most tasteless cherry tomato, I've ever tried. No wonder with a brix of 4.5 though ...

Polaris was disappointing this year. It has been one of my tried-and-true varieties, producing some of the tastiest large tomatoes for the last several years. But this year, I got 3 tomatoes from 2 plants. I did grow a couple other varieties bred by Karen Olivier, which did better: One-Trick Pony and Cowboy (though my Cowboy tomatoes were prolific, they were much smaller than expected). So a diversified portfolio works!
I've grown Polaris for 5 years now. It's been great 4 of those 5 years, but I did have that one clunker year. It's still such a good tomato, I'll try to grow it every year.

I've grown Cowboy 2 years now, and it's been a workhorse both years. I'll try One Trick Pony over the next couple of seasons when I get my hands on some seed.

Jaune flamme--first and last time growing. Fruit were lovely, but extremely thick-skinned, and the flavor was tart without balancing sweetness.

Chocolate sprinkles--fruit were pretty, but also pretty thick-skinned, and flavor was nothing special.

Lemon boy--lots of fruit, but the flavor was very bland.

The other big disappointment of 2024 was curly top virus, which took 11 of my 30 plants, most before they'd produced a single good tomato, including all my pink Berkeley tie-dies, carbons, and Cherokee purples.

Tartufo and an unknown beef steak variety. The latter attracted hordes of slugs, I got ONE single tomato, everything else was just demolished by the slugs. They'd hollow out some of them and others they ate only a few patches here and there.

I've started almost 10 Tartufo seeds and barely any germinated, the ones that did were sickly and didn't do well. I tried from 2 different seed packs, but from the same vendor. So it could have been a vendor issue. My friend had same issues with them.

I've not grown the others before, but definitely agree with Jaune Flamme. Probably the tartest tomato I've ever tasted.

Etter's Big Heart of Color did not give me a single fruit and it had a very good position in the garden. I heard of someone else that had the same problem.

You might consider Momotaro. I grew it for 5 years and its a very good tasting tomato. Best hybrid I ever had. 70 Days to maturity.

You might like Mountain Princess or Matina.

I've grown Mountain Princess a number of times. It starts out seeming kind of slow and clumping, but somehow it is early and then it expands and produces a lot. I like the taste.
