Re: 2024/2025 arrivals and departures
I wish you a speedy recovery. This dry cough is a terrible disease. Right now, after a month, I finally feel like I've gotten rid of it. My wife is in worse shape, she lost 7 kg and is so weak that she's afraid to go out alone. We were treated with medications prescribed by the doctor (antibiotics, codeine, etc.) But it seems that my wife's disease is already receding, after a long time she's starting to eat.MissS wrote: ↑Fri Apr 11, 2025 9:00 pm Per Tormato, Tormahto, Gary
I turned 66, and feel closer to 96. The latest is that I "may" have walking pneumonia, nurses aren't sure. Hospitals, and their doctors and nurse practitioners (who would be able sign off on meds), don't want to see me, or my sneezing, as I'm without medical insurance. I have a persistent dry cough, that off and on sneezing, and very low energy, and no other symptoms. For now, they say to get rest (about a month), keep up with nutrition, and come back if anything gets worse.
Because I may be contagious until all symptoms disappear, I have to hold off on doing the swap, for now. The best thing for me would be to rest for close to a month. But, I know that I will cheat when I have a few days of very warm, very sunny, calm days, and attempt to pack some things outside. I'm also saddened that the small chocolate sample squares were starting to melt, indoors, here, on the one warm day. So, I will have to exclude those, this year.
So, participants will have to plan on their packages being for their next year's garden. As long as I'm alive and able, all packages will go out.
Also, I am now currently without home internet service. So, for the next month, I might be rarely online. Next week, I will attempt to PM MIssS all of the addresses for the participants in the EBTKS swap, if I am not able to do it myself.
Hopefully, someone can pass this info on to the TLC group.
Sometime next week is when I will, at the earliest, be back online.
Once again - get well soon..

Oh Man! Pneumonia of any kind is serious, and it stinks that providers won't see you unless it's an emergency. Of course, with the medical establishment being as pricey as it is for cash pays, that may be more of a blessing than one would think. All I can suggest is stay hydrated and consider elderberry syrup to boost your immune system. Other home remedies that may help with the symptoms are listed here https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/320881
Rest and heal! I for one have lots of seeds, and could fund my neighborhood 300 years into Perdition! I love getting new varieties to try, but your health is more important.

Come gather 'round people / Wherever you roam / And admit that the waters
Around you have grown / And accept it that soon / You'll be drenched to the bone
If your time to you is worth savin'/ And you better start swimmin' / Or you'll sink like a stone
For the times they are a-changin' / Bob Dylan

@Tormato @Tormahto i am so sorry to hear that you are not doing well. I really appreciate all you have done for all these years for all of us. I will forever remember these swaps and your posts with so much fondness. Take all the time you need. I would rather never get a package than have you push to do it and it knock you down further.

Re: 2024/2025 arrivals and departures
Seeds for next year are fine with me. It has been a very cool and wet spring here in Ohio. The only thing up so far in my little greenhouse is 5 yellow straightneck squash and the tubs of greens - spinach, kale, etc. We had a freaky hail storm in April which made the greenhouse roof look like a piece of Swiss cheese! We had to replace the entire roof. The window frames are also broken which means new custom replacement windows. We always have a late garden anyway since the planting of corn, soybeans, and wheat comes first, and it turns out great with the help of garden mats with precut holes. After we lay all of that in in place, no weeding is necessary.

While the MMMM is currently on hold, you are in line to get the Everything But The Kitchen Sink Swap box, soon. In the EBTKSS thread, post #48 shows the order of participants to receive it.midwestfarmwife wrote: ↑Mon May 05, 2025 10:07 am Seeds for next year are fine with me. It is currently about to go out to ranegrow, or already has. MelinKS is next, but I'm searching for their address. If I cannot find that address soon, you are next after that, and I'll have ranegrow send it to you. In any case, it should be no more than a couple of weeks wait.
