Extraterrestrial Alien Bean Alert !!

I have perfected the "Alien Bean." Often unaware to most. We have Aliens living among-st us. They can disguise as normal humans. I have crafted a Alien detector. It can sense when a Alien comes within 100 feet of any person that has the Alien Bean alert-er in their pocket . Every individual that is carrying the "Bean" in their pocket, is guaranteed to be alerted to Alien dangers. Or a complete money back return, if our device fails.
Here is how it works---The "Bean" vibrates like a cell phone. So you are alerted to all close existing Alien dangers. Now for the good part-- The "Bean" looks like a regular pinto bean. You, nor anyone else, can tell the difference between your "Alien Bean", and a real uncooked pinto bean. For a mere $49.99--plus shipping, you can be alerted to close Alien activities. Get your own "Alien Bean" today. If not for yourself, do it as a gift for that special loved one, or spouse. But that is not all !!!The first 100 callers will get a second Alien Bean, totally free of all charges. Its disguised as a cranberry bean. For those special nights you want to get dressed up, and go out on the town. Times you want to have a fancy "Bean," in your pocket.   DON'T DELAY-- get your Alien Bean today !!

There is a comet that is getting close at the end of the month, https://www.forbes.com/sites/jamiecarte ... f6c78a19d6. I heard that aliens sometimes hide their ships in a comets tail. Do you have any beans that would grow a vine to the sky so I could hitch a ride? I don't want to drink the "kool-aid" to join up with them. I could trade you ma's milk cow for a few beans.

Jack--- I have a grandson that is 16. He has never visually seen a real fallen star, his whole life. And he might be destined to never see one. LOL.
He spends the summers with me. Every meteor shower we have, its overcast. So sitting out in a lawn chair is useless. All the times I have him in a boat with me fishing at night. He has his head turned the wrong way, when a star falls. He often asks me what one looks like. He points to every passing jet, and ask if that is one ? When he is at home, he stays on the computer. So he may never know about the simple things in life. LOL

All kidding aside, I don't remember seeing too many shooting stars as a kid. It wasn't till I started going backpacking and getting to see really dark skies that I started to pay attention to the night time shows. I was really disappointed when Halley's comet was not very visible in 1986. When it returns in 2061, your grandson should see a much brighter comet, although we should both be long gone.

Supposed to be some activity the 21st and 22nd. If its clear, I'm going to try and show him one. I've lived around places with street lights the last 46 years. It makes it impossible to see the stars. Even though I have no lights real close to me. As a child, I lived back in the sticks. Some houses off from the road, never had electricity. The skies was full of stars then. It was a much bigger sky too. When the house lights was off, ya couldn't see your hand in front of your face. No one had air conditioning. Only screens in the window. I use to lay in bed, and look up through the top wooden pane. If I could stay awake for an hour-- I would always see one.
I can see how to navigate through the house easy now. Its never really dark here. PS-- As a kid the night bug sounds was deafening, I thought. Now I only hear road traffic. I'm glad I live out where its convenient. But I miss the little things about the sticks. PS--- Is that your elevation and rainfall posted at the bottom ???

TomHillbilly Yes, I live in what is described as a semi-arid desert. The small farms outside of my urban area rely on irrigation water from the local reservoir. If the farmers here had to rely on natural rainfall, tumbleweeds would be the only crop. ;)

In my younger years, when I was dating my now-husband, we were driving home from somewhere and happened to stop the car on some rural road where it was pitch black. My husband has always been very interested in stars & astronomy & astrophysics, but he was a city boy. I pointed out the Milky Way to him. He said no, that was just clouds. I said no, the "clouds" are BEHIND the stars; it's the Milky Way. He let out a whoop of astonishment & joy. I smile when I remember that.

pondgardner-- I can't imagine living in those conditions. When I said I grew up in the sticks. The elevation was about 2800 feet. Outsiders called us "mountain people." Because we got frosts 2 weeks earlier, and later, than the valley land. Which was around 1600 to 1800 feet. Meaning we had 1 month more winter, than the low-lands. While both places had a annual rain fall around 40 inches. Us mountain people got about 25 inches more snow each year. Compared to you--we weren't mountain people at all. LOL... I retired, and moved 3 hours south-west of my old homelands. I'm now in zone 7, instead of 6, and at 1250 feet. I rarely see a snow fall big enough to track a critter. And I picked up a couple more inches rain. Its difficult for things not to grow. I fight weed growth all summer long.

Nan6b---- I'm also lucky to be with the same woman I dated in early life. Neither of us had any clue as how to date. We survived the ordeal together. And created many memories together. My wife's side of the family are extremely acceptable to a disease that robs the memories, in later life. She shows all the symptoms. It only frustrates her, if I bring up the past. We have been so bless for years, no sympathy is needed. I only tell you this, so to encourage you to reminisce with your hubby, while you can. That can be a fleeing thing. PS--- I'm so glad I'll never have to fumble through the act of mate shopping again. Things have changed so. I figure I would be stoned in today's times. I was lucky I found a girl that saw some type of potential in me--that she could shape into something.

I'm sorry you & your wife have to go through that. But you yourself have good memories of the past to treasure. My DH's* health is not the best and I try to savor every day with him. I'm also blessed to have my 89-year-old mother with me most days (in excellent health).

TomHillbilly, If you are at 12,500 feet, you are seeing plenty of snow. You probably meant to say 1250 feet. If you are not already aware, you can click the pencil icon in the upper right corner to edit a post that YOU created.

And actually we have pretty good weather most of the time. Although it can get below zero for extended periods of time, we are blessed with low humidity and plenty of sunshine. About the only thing I don't like is the occasional hail storm for obvious reasons. :x :x :x

On weekends I take the dog walking early in the morning (3-4am early). A couple years ago We were walking when a big orange and green flame went whizzing past us; couldn't have been more than 100 feet above us. Probably the closest I'll ever be to a shooing star.
