Thanks. I was justed texted ON MY DAY OFF to tell me my two vacation days next week have been cancelled. I needed this so bad, I am bereft. Ruined my day off. All vactions in May have been cancelled as well. So they can work us until we are exhausted and refuse to give us our time off with no extra pay, and if you don't use you loose it. We can't carry it over until next year. They refused to bulk up staffing in my FOR PROFIT hospital and now are cancelling vacations of stressed out staff, and they get to keep the extra money they save. My floor is still closed because we do not have enough patients, and I am forced to work at a sister hospital to bulk up staffing but even though there is not enough patients to open my unit I get no vacation time. Our contract says I am entittled to it, but the "state of emergency" means they can do whatever they want. Even if it is just to make more money for the higher ups.

Not under quarantine after all, 'yet.
Given the choice to work or not.
I chose to work with mask.
Just no work at that job site till case is confirmed or not.
Got a call from direct supervisor agreeing with me in the group text.
I really laid into everyone about the unsanitary situation on these job sites.
Guys I and my co worker have been peeing behind bushes instead of going in nasty porta jons and then no place to wash our hands.
Give us a ticket we dont give a hoot.

The last I read, 30% of negative test results are incorrect. Those odds are not very comforting even if the test does come back negative.

Worth, you are my friend. Think positive thoughts and keep on working if that's what you need to do for yourself - and not because of monthly bills. If you start showing symptoms, get medical help even if you cannot afford it. It's a pandemic and some of the rules we grew up with no longer apply. Stay safe and do what you know is the right thing.

It wasn't my co worker just another person on the job.
They called in sick and was told to go get tested.
No idea who it was.
But thank you. :)

Hugs to both of you @Sue_CT and @worth1.
The complaints that we have in isolation are nothing compared to the stress you're having to face being out there every day.
Can't say how much it means to have you post here and share the scene that you're seeing. Puts our small worries in perspective.
More hugs... Really hope you two can get a good night's rest every night, and muster the energy to eat well also and keep up your strength.
Thank you for keeping us in the loop, and please keep doing that. We're thinking of you every day.

My wife is scared to go to work, and yet, she is not afraid. She works at Walmart, and she is strong. She believes in helping others in their time of need. She is a hero just like doctors, military, police, and everyone else trying to help you. Give her the respect that she deserves.

Leave your bullsh!t at home.

In all honesty I am about to come undone.
Last night I dreamed a weird alien like spider thing (tan with long fuzzy pink feather like things coming out of its back )was on me and every time it took a step it stung.
Then it jumped real fast and landed on my neck and as I was trying to get it off of me I woke up screaming and shaking.
I never have dreams like that.
Yesterday I had to go get indoctrinated at another job site, NXP Austin.
It was like a nightmare for me.
Everyone including me had to wear a hood.
It just about put me over the edge.
Just dont know how much more my nerves can handle.
Also getting tired of this daily death tole thing, why are they doing this?
You have to look long and hard to find any good news like people that get over it.

@worth1 I agree that they never seem to talk about those that recover and I wonder if they are afraid that if they are too positive that people will think that the risk is over and stop social distancing.

I see lots of people stupidly ignoring the stay-at-home order already.

Dr Fauci just said yesterday "Don't think that good news means that you can pull back".

Of course media in general concentrates on the bad stuff because it gets more attention.

If you look at the statistics from Johns Hopkins on the other Coronavirus thread posted by @MissS, it shows how many are positive and how many have recovered.

Worth, I agree with you, but mentally we can get through this together. all this OVER INFORMATON is psychologically crippling.... try not to tune into it. don't look at it don't read it. just keep on doing the "safe" things as a standard of practice.

I don't even read most of the other posts on the other covid thread here. it is too much information. it is stressful and depressing to read.

Yes it is most definitely depressing, upsetting, confusing and mentally challenging. I foolishly made it my job to write the facts about this pandemic every day. There are some days that I become so rattled that I don't wish to look further. I dread making my post every day because some days I am so very upset and just do not want to face the reality of it all. I'm sure that this is how our people in the medical community feel as well. I do this because people need to know what is happening in the world. If they remain ignorant then they will be unprepared to take precautions.
