The yellow lower leaves are rather far from the light. A plant -- especially one under some stress -- will drop leaves that aren't particularly productive. Nothing to worry about.

They look okay. What have you got going on in the white bucket? If you like the looks of Spike then next year you should try growing Stick.

Those are some tiny lavender seedlings that spent 4+ weeks in one of those little Jiffy windowsill planters and started growing algae before I got 4 or 5 out of 24 seeds to germinate.

After I planted them I read you should freeze your lavender seeds for a few weeks so they think they've gone through a winter before planting them. So I put the remaining seeds in a wet paper towel (as per the suggestion) and froze them, I may try planting them today. It's part of my pollinator support effort, I'm trying to grow some Greek Oregano, Salvia, and a couple kinds of basil (the Jiffy pellets I was expanding in post #75, some of which have already come up after only 2 days!), also have some African Blue Basil seedlings coming at the end of the month.

Well, I decided to put the plants outside this morning for a half hour, once the temp got up to 50°F, for some natural UV before the wind picks up later.

Tomorrow we may have 1-2" of rain and 60mph gusts, so you've got to seize your moments, I guess.

EDIT: Oh, I forgot to mention something. I have soft water in my house. When I started these seedlings I was using distilled water from the supermarket, but then I ran out and switched to (soft) tap water. I know that the sodium in soft water isn't good for plants...but how bad is it in this circumstance?

I have been using softened tap water on my plants for years with no ill effects.

Thanks, when they get planted outside I use the un-softened outside hose faucet, but I still have that shut off for the winter. Wound up giving the plants an hour outside, hopefully they enjoyed it.

I too have softened water. It's fine for the short time that they are inside. I have been using it for years and years.
