Biquino Red Pepper Seed

Plain Jane has a picture of Biquino Yellow in the Gallery section. These peppers are sweet with a hint of spice, not hot. It's hard not to eat these right off the plant. My go to pepper to tone down the hots.

I've got enough seed from 2019 crop to supply all of this site and then some. If anyone wants seed, send me your address and I will get them out around February 10.

Pretty plants, glad to see a picture since I bought seed, LOL, for both the red and yellow ones.
Together, trees make an ecosystem that tempers the extremes of heat & cold, stores lots of water, & makes a lot of humidity. In this environment, trees can live to be very old. To get to this point, the community must remain intact no matter what.

I don't need any seeds but I am glad you posted it to see what it looks like. I had someone drop off seeds for me to grow for them and I am welcome to the remainder of them. I always put one of something I have never grown in the garden just to see if I like it.

Here are two of the three plants I started from your seed. One has already been given to a friend. Thank you!

It's definitely a different leaf than I'm used to on peppers.

bjbebs, here's a progress report. Your pepper is right on the end so it gets some elbow room. :D

Hope all have good luck with this pepper. Dawg, noticed you have Biquino listed as a hot. It's a sweet. Pop a few in your mouth and you'll see. It is a bit slow out of the box and then kicks into gear mid summer. Have more seed if anyone needs some.

Thank you. My biquinos sprouted quickly and I can't wait to get them in the ground and see how they do here.

I planted 4 of these, and I was taking photos of the pretty purple flowers on one of them when I noticed that it was different from the other three, which have white flowers! I tasted a Biquino that had a hint of red, and it is indeed spicy. Spicy, hot— on that spectrum. Then I dared to bite into one of the others: hot!!

I don’t know what the mature color of the unknown is, but it’s quite attractive now.

Habitat
All the Biquino seed I planted this year is true to type. The yellow with tapered nipple is not Biquino, too elongated. Biquino does have a hint of spice, but is by no means hot. Maybe others could pipe in on how their seed produced.

That little sucker sure produced a ton of those peppers! I tried one and it had (to me) a pretty strange flavor so I waited until it was dead ripe and tried it again. It still tasted strange so I'm sorry to say I guess I'm just not suited to this pepper. But I still have the seed so will try another one next spring on the chance that it was something in that particular soil or whatever this year. I'm not giving up yet! :D
