That is a very interesting set up. Very neat and tidy. What fertilizer do you use in your system? Looking forward to updates. Hope you get a bumper crop!

Your setup is awesome.
Are the black fabric pots with the drawstrings, Awesome Harvest Air Pruning Pots?

Whoa, what a great grow system you have. It took a lot of thought and good execution too.

Re: My Hybrid RGGS
The black fabric bags with drawstrings are Growsun. I am going away from these type of fabric bags and moving to Rain Science grow bags. The 3 tan bags are Radicle grow bags which I am trying this year. I also have 1 Airpot (expensive) I am trying this year. Rain Science and Radicle bags are more expensive than the fabric bags but I like them better. I find less algae build up and they clean up much easier. I will say that they use more water though with the more open mesh design but for my system that is not an issue.
In past years I always covered the top of the soil with plastic. This year I am leaving some bags open on top and not using the plastic to see what happens. So far so good. Again probably more water usage. Always trying something different each year to see what works best.

Re: My Hybrid RGGS
As far as fertilizer goes, I've always used 10-10-10 in a ring around the plant near the top of the bag. This year I did the same with some bags and others I mixed in FoxFarm Marine Cuisine into the soil before planting. I'll plan to supplement that part way through the season. I also plan to use some liquid FoxFarm in my water supply to see what results I get. I figure there are three possible outcomes to this. Either the plants will thrive and take off, nothing out of the ordinary happens or I'll kill them all off........

Re: My Hybrid RGGS
Your garden looks great. I hope it is super productive for you.
Thanks for the mention of the easier to clean growbags. I use root pouches and though I like them a lot, they are such a drag to clean up and have moss growing on them fairly early into the season. I'm gong to check out the Radicle grow bag and Rain Science (which I think I did earlier this season - which is ending now).
I was going to buy and try an Airpot (or HTG knockoff) and they talked me out of it saying that it would be in the too hard category for keeping hydrated in my climate.
Keep us posted on how you are doing and your different experiments. I also plan to try FF Marine Cuisine vs some others but it was backordered and I haven't received it yet.

Re: My Hybrid RGGS
Asaump, I love experimenting as how else would you know if one method or input is superior to another?
If you look Under the Earthbox Container threads I did several comparisons of fertilizer using EBs. My organic fertilizers did really well but I never found a supplement to pair with them to extend season. Synthetic did really well too but tasted less sweet (I compared Juliet tomatoes). My season starts in the fall so will try again. Good luck with your experiments.

Re: My Hybrid RGGS
Curious about the cattle panels? I've thought about that with my plants UNDER the triangle but not BESIDE it. Probably my own inexperience speaking, but your setup is not working for me in my mind. On the other hand, it would be PERFECT for my garden arrangement if I could figure out how it works like you have it.
A seed not planted is guaranteed not to grow.

Re: My Hybrid RGGS
TXTravis- I have peppers on one side this year with the exception of two bags with pole beans. Cukes are on the other side. I've used them for toms in the past and no issues using them. Once the plants get tall enough I just lean it over on the panel and clip the stems as they grow. The last toms I put on them outgrew the panel and went up and over. My first year I had just a couple earth boxes and grew them under the panel. I really don't have a issue with this set up. Works great.
