Today was the most delicious day we've had in a long while. It was 52 this morning so a slightly open window made for perfect sleeping weather last night. Then this cloudless, deep blue sky day got up to 77 with a nice southwesterly breeze and sunshine that felt really cozy on the shoulders. Ahhhhhhhhhh....... :D

My kind of weather, too! It was in the mid 50s overnight, and it's supposed to get to the low 70s for a high, and the humidity is gone! It was 65° a while ago when I was out, and I had to laugh when I saw a neighbor with a stocking cap on, and a sweat shirt. Supposed to get to the high 40s the next 2 nights, but back up again, for a while.

Got my eye on another Major Hurricane, Delta, as it approaches the Gulf of Mexico. Forecast is for the storm to weaken as it approaches the US Coast. Most Models make it a Louisiana landfall. I imagine they are more than a little weary of this hurricane season, I know I am.

Otherwise, we could use a little rain. Running mid 80s or so for the high, 60s overnight, pretty standard Early October weather.

Yeah, the Delta bumped up unexpectedly. And season not over by any means. Shocking to see yet another 'cone of uncertainty' around Louisiana. It's as if they're repeating the same track over and over...
Our heat wave is long gone. Couple of very chilly nights so far this week, but a nice sunny day today in the 50's I'd guess, and no wind it warmed the house nicely.
I'm not sure if the furnace is working. Need to get someone in for that, and the chimney as well.

Getting some little bit of rain and a pretty good breeze out of the NNE, all from Delta. Storm center is roughly 130 nautical miles east of here. Freeport Channel at 117 nautical miles from center showing winds at 25 kts, gusting to 30.

Surface water temperatures out in the gulf in this region now are generally at or below 80 degrees, sort of lethal to maintaining a hurricane indefinitely. Still, it should be a rough time for Louisiana. My wife has sort of family near Crowley. Some came this way, others are riding it out in place. Hurricane Laura was ugly to them, not fair they get another one in the same season.

We've been in the mid 80's for several days and it's supposed to continue for another week. Today started out sunny and humid but a steady NNE breeze made it tolerable. A high overcast moved in around lunchtime ahead of rain that's supposed to come through tomorrow from Delta. It will be less than 1" but we can use it.

All is good here except power and internet is out. We slept good in the A/C after it blew through. I have one tree down on the power line and broken branches everywhere but overall the house is in good shape and I didn't lose any shingles thanks to Owen's Cornings 50 year/110 mph wind rating.

In the blink of an eye it turned ftom hot and miserable to cold and wet.
Just on schedule for Halloween.
This is so common here you could almost set your calendar by it.

Epsilon brought us some rain on Sunday but the eye of the storm was well offshore due to COLD front pushing from the west.
I've been spoiled by the warmer than average trend, and not happy to get into a 'below normal' trend with high's no more than 5 C. But who am I kidding? This is totally normal for the first week of November, as Halloween is usually cold and wet, and is very often our first sight of a snowflake in the air.
Another system is bringing rain today and a high of 14 C :)
Sadly the warm temperature is not much use when combined with heavy rain and wind!

Six below zero(-21C˚) this morning, shattered the previous record by about 25 degrees. 12 inches of snow probably had a hand in the temperature swing...supposed to be 67F˚by Saturday. Crazy weather...

most of the month has been same story, different day, cold, overcast, rain/snow, wind blow.
we got about 5 inches of snow over night sunday that made the roads sloppy, and slippery.
today we get a break, and get to see the sun today. temps have been in a narrow range in
the high 20s low 30s. supposed to get warmer come the weekend with highs in the 40s.
local meteorologist john dee says the current snow will melt. it is too early here for this kind of
weather. our winter season is already a month or two longer than everyone else. we are not looking
to make it longer. high humidity just makes it seem colder. wood stove is being fed regularly.

We got 8 to 10 inches of snow from that storm, temp was 4F yesterday morning when I went to work. Today when I got up it was a whooping 8F with a minus 8F windchill... in the past 3 hours it has climbed to 17F with a windchill of 5F ... needless to say the garlic that was delivered yesterday is sitting in the house until it warms up enough to plant.

Today is supposed to be about average (63°), and finally not wet, but it's still damp everywhere, and more rain coming the next couple of days. The lows have been high - in the mid 50s, so I won't complain!

Hey hey hey~ guess what we got coming~ Why, it's another hurricane, Zeta! :(
Seems pretty on track this time for New Orleans... man I really hope it's not too bad because I'd rather not start over on my fall plants again.

Wet, wet, wet, and that's not a band. I have fencing to put up. Blooming UK drizzle, wind, sunshine, cold winds make your mind up.

It was misty and gloomy until lunchtime when the mist quit. Then about 2:00 the sun came out for a nice mellow 80 degree day with a bit of breeze. The fall plants in the garden have enjoyed the overcast the last few days and especially today's misting. They're happy, happy, happy!

We could use some rain from Zeta. Until the 8/10" a few days ago, all we've had in October is 1/3".
