Someone (Probably at TV) once described the tomato Paw Paw as "almost TOO sweet for a slicer."

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
Bulgarian Triumph and Shirley "S" are VERY sweet to my taste. I prefer a more higher acidic taste when it comes to tomatoes.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
I would like to add to the list the dwarf variety that grew well both in container and in raised bed: Dwarf Sweet Sue (pale yellow color).
For me it grew 4 to 5 feet with plenty fruits about 6 to 10 ounces. The taste is different to most tomatoes, really fruity.
And as was mentioned before, Blackberry is consistently sweet as well. Taste is more complex, not for nothing it has "berry" in the name. Mostly for me were in 5 to 9 ounce range, with some larger yearly and smaller at the end of the season. Love both of them. Many other tomatoes change the taste (depends on the weather, diseases), this two taste the same for me.
Brandywine Sudduth has consistent sweet not too sour taste for me as well. But it is not as sweet as Dwarf Sweet Sue and as complex as Blackberry.
They are all 3 on my grow list for this year.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
What if an addition to sweetness I will add as requirement productivity, earliness and complexity of taste? Is there such thing which combine them all?

Very good point!
I have grown sungold and they are early, productive and while I don't know about complexity, it was a cherry bomb in the mouth.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
That Cherokee Yellow Perfection Peach (we're starting to have names like racehorses...): are we sure that's not a synonym for Wapsipincicon Peach? The descriptions sound similar.
There is no such thing as too many tomatoes, and anyone who tells you otherwise should be shunned --you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

He stated in another post that this was a cross developed by a friend and the friend named it.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
Hello,
This one is growing well. Just a few more weeks until I can put it in the group. Thanks for the suggestion!

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
Wow! More than 16X the claimed harvest of 100. Our best red cherry for 3 years running has been Sweet Baby Girl (red) cherry. The only negative is these indeterminates are not short plants. We love the taste, texture and perfectness, though it is a hybrid, so saving seeds is not recommended. Hazzards Seed Co. was my source. Although I am 'experiementing' with Braveheart F1 this year for something different.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
Yes, MissS is correct that they're different. I've grown both, and they taste totally different, but they look and feel similar. Cherokee Yellow Perfection Peach is super sweet. Wapsipinicon Peach was earlier for me, and was kind of acidic (not sweet). I much preferred Cherokee Yellow Perfection Peach. CYPP had fatter fruits, too, I think.

This year I grow Hibor from Darrel Jones. According to him, it has 11 - 13 Brix. I'll measure it and let you know.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
At me it looks like this today:
Hibor- I tasted the first fruit of the Hibor tomato 40 days (DTM) after the flowering of the flower from which it grew (10.6.). He was really sweet. Fruity taste, indistinct.
The other three varieties so far bear fruit only in the green state, Cherokee Purple and Lorelei will probably be really very fertile.
Pienollo x LA 0417 also looks good.

Re: Sweetest Tomatoes
I've had the chance to try Sungold Select II, Ambrosia Gold, and Snow White. All side by side this year.
I've had family and friends give them a try and everyone has said that Snow White is the best tasting. I ask why, and they say "it's sweet".
This could be a regional thing or a product of this year, more testing is needed
