So, someone wanted to know if I had any seed for a particular type of tomato their grandfather loves.

So, here it is ... "It's yellow, and from california".

I know, I know.... But does anyone have any ideas ? :D

Bower good shout, I just read up on them. I think I can pass this to them to narrow down the search, fingers crossed beefsteak...

Here it is, yellow tomatoes from California. Maybe not, but an interesting and a somewhat odd read.

karstopography fascinating story, and with it being a roma then this could be a likely candidate also. I think if it was a yellow roma I'm sure they'd know - what Italian would not know a roma!

Dawn another good shout :-) Blush, an elongated cherry. Surely, they can identify this, if it is THE ONE. And it is speciality so i suspect it might be along the lines as I am sure it's not a common one. I'll download all the details so there is a "pick me" list, here's hoping.

Not sure if they come from California but how about Taxi or Lemon Boy? I mean if you asked my kids about the yellow tomato they liked about all they could say was round...

I mentioned them because Taxi and Lemon Boy were THE yellow tomatoes to grow back in the mid 90s. They were often grown from Bonnie plants. They are still around because they are good, especially Lemon Boy which is a pure lemon yellow with a hint of spicy flavor.

wykvlvr That sounds like some strong potential based on the age of the person's concerned. I like your thinking...
