Mr. Doss!!!! You probably have the climate well-figured. Waiting, here, for the Redbuds to blossom...Hope to see 'em next week.
Refrain from calculating the total number of poultry...before the process of incubation has fully materialized.

Two years in a row I have seen the redbuds come out before the last killer cold for tomatoes.
Last year and the one before that I think.
Not for sure what I'll grow this year, pretty overwhelmed with other things.
Maybe cucumbers and okra..

The state of the redbud bloom near Lake Jackson as of 12:00, March 2nd, 2021. worth1

I want to go pretty big on okra this year. It’s definitely a crop made for our summers. I love it split in half longways, seasoned and roasted in the oven. Love it in gumbo, love it battered and fried, love it pickled. There’s some Indian subcontinent stuffed gumbo recipes I’d like to try out, plus many other possibilities.

I probably pickled a gallon and a quart or two, mostly in pint sized increments. Still working through that, but I’ll likely be finished with that at the time the new crop comes in. Plan is to have plenty to make more pickles and to freeze for winter soups and gumbo. I have three types of seeds, Hill country red, Jing, and Louisiana green velvet.

Plan is to grow three types of cucumbers also, a little persian, the garden sweet burpless(has japanese genes) and an english type. Tour of the world right here at home.

Let’s see what plans nature has.

The redbuds aren't out and the oak leaves aren't the size of a squirrels ear.
Damn the ancient wisdom! If HISD is out, tomatoes should be in! (heh)

Houston-area folks: if you know where the Westbury Community Garden is located, I am probably going to leave some orphans there Saturday morning, in the hopes that they find good homes. I'll have them labeled.
There is no such thing as too many tomatoes, and anyone who tells you otherwise should be shunned --you don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

Buds on Carmello. Nothing I can do about the leaves on top of the mulch. The live oaks have been dropping their leaves for a few weeks now. Impossible to keep up with the raking.

All I see is a bunch of wonderful, free and natural mulch. 👌

And I'm very jealous of those beautiful tomato plants. I won't even see a stem in the ground for a couple months yet

MissS I took look at the forecast in the most likely snow spots in Texas, up in the panhandle or out the higher elevations in the trans pecos, nothing showing yet on WU. I’m 1,200 kilometers from Dalhart and 1,100 kilometers from the 2,667 m Guadalupe Peak. Denver, Co is due a big storm, wonder if some little bit of that will graze the top of Texas? Dalhart TX is only 560 km from Denver, 440 km Colorado Springs, 370 from Pueblo, all those Colorado cities are expecting snow, especially the first two.

We were unseasonably warm today, 27 C, 80 F. Warm forecast here until next weekend when the highs might dip just under 70 degrees, 21 C. Good tomato weather all week. Bring it on.

Miss S, hugs. We are sleeping in shifts... to slow smoke a brisket overnight - That bad weather might happen hundreds of miles away, but here it's open windows. Next week it's supposed to cool down a little bit. Way up in the Canada part of Texas - it might snow? :P

Things are moving along quite nicely. I've got only 10 plants. Buds and flowers on all.

Spooky!...Nice-looking plot and strong-looking plants. When are your tomato plants finished? Those here are cooked by the Fourth of July.

Don’t know if any of the blossoms have set fruit yet, but I’m seeing some positive trends.

Good timing on these tomato blossoms. Low 80s days, mid 60s nights. Forest Tent caterpillars raining down frass, free and fantastic fertilizer, all over the garden. No sign of disease or pests. Most every tomato plant in the garden blooming or about to. Won’t last, but enjoying it while it does.

Reversed the photo descriptions, so the top should be at the bottom.
