Second tier of tomato cages has gone up, and like clockwork - septoria makes an appearance. Bit of BER on Thorburn’s Terracotta, same as last year.

I’ll head to the seafood market later to get something to go with the beans and Brussels sprouts.

Those beans and Brussels are a wowza color combo!

Do you spray down your cages with 10% bleach solution? I've done that off and on with mixed results, mixed enough that I can't be sure of the efficacy.

Thanks!
Yes, I bleach the cages before I plant out each spring. Not sure if it helps either; lots of septoria about as it’s been a humid growing season so far.

I had fungal diseases (Powdery Mildew) a lot this spring. I have so much wind that I typically avoid Fungal Diseases so this was all new to me.

I' have been taking down plants for awhile now; my backyard is just so hot already. I will be happy when the season is over.

RE: Terra Cotta, I grew it also this spring and was surprised how small the tomatoes were. I didn't get BER.

Not a fan of Brussel Sprouts, but yours look really interesting.

Actually, Barb_FL Thorburn’s Terracotta fruit size last year was kind of all over the place so we’ll see what it does this year. I love the color.
DH was just saying that these sprouts have a different taste than store bought; less sharp, more of a mild cabbage flavor. They are the first variety I’ve grown.
Temps here in N. Florida have been vacillating every few days but humidity has stayed up there.

The patio smells good right now between the gardenia and oleander.

The Russelia are between bloom cycles at the moment; I should have taken pictures of them 2 weeks ago. Carefree plant here and the hummingbirds do like it.

I decided to try a dwarf tomato again this year. I’ve attempted a number of them in the past but was never happy with either their health or production. This is The Thong, and so far so good.

Nice open plant PlainJane, having grown one or two that are a lot more condensed than that one when left unpruned, I can well imagine that some would have problems with humidity.

Whwoz, I pruned it very lightly about 3 weeks ago as it’s been a humid spring.
The standard size tomatoes are due another thinning this weekend as we head into the REAL Florida weather.
