Mentioned before, but I'll post here for organization.
Miss Scarlett In The Kitchen With the Knife, is a Regular Leaf. Half of my plants had come up Potato Leaf. I'm trying to grow both to see what I get (herbicide drift is of concern this year).

Two plants germinated for me, one RL and one PL. I'm growing both.

The four that I am growing are PL.

Re: MMMM 2021 variety off-types
Does an unknown variety qualify as an off-type? From another post of mine:
Fake Annie is something that we named as the seed came from a pack of purchased Early Annie seed from which I grew two plants last year. One grew true to description; regular leaf, early and determinate, a rather small plant and the red tomatoes are maybe 2" wide. The other was/is a larger plant with large potato leaves, deep yellow tomatoes larger than the red ones and it seems to be indeterminate! Pretty prolific in fruit set too. It has an almost fruity flavor whereas the red one doesn't. Go figure. Just to have something to call it, we named it Fake Annie!

Re: MMMM 2021 variety off-types
So, I did check through my vlog as I had a recollection of a RL MSITK. And yes I had two RL seedlings. But they didn't survive, but the four PL's did. I think Darwinism survival of the species played a part in their demise, some monkey over watered them and they died of damping off disease.

Re: MMMM 2021 variety off-types
I'm growing what was supposed to be Ambrosia Gold and getting something that is pink (maybe even red?) and larger than a cherry. Not a bad tomato, but I won't save seeds since it isn't super productive and the fruit get a bit mealy when fully ripe.

I'm getting some fruit from my MissScareltInTheKittchenWithTheKnife that was a potatoe leaf. Definitely not what i was hoping it would be.

Adding a photo from last year. Can't find the close-up.GoDawgs wrote: ↑Mon Jul 12, 2021 7:55 am Does an unknown variety qualify as an off-type? From another post of mine:

I wonder if the Lady Fingers (Damskie Palchiki) I'm growing is correct. I'm getting roundish cocktail size tomatoes instead of elongated plums.

It is productive and tasty...just not what I expected. Has anyone else found this?

Re: MMMM variety off-types from seeds from 2020 swap
of two cherokee chocolate plants growing, one looks like it might be normal. the other plant is
ripening pear shaped fruit that are a chocolate orange, smokey orange, or dusky orange in color.
take your pick in describing it. flavor was decent, but definitely not cherokee chocolate.
karma purple, and the karma purple regular leaf have similar fruit. i have not tasted both of them yet.

Re: MMMM variety off-types from seeds from 2020 swap
Hello! This year I grew Selbo’s Red Ribbed from the 2020 swap. Except it’s not ribbed - they’re piriform and most have a pretty defined nipple. Is this Selbo’s Red Nippled?! Tormato, look like anything familiar?
They are tasty and thick-walled and very long keepers.
