my one ambrosia gold growing is producing tomatoes that are more red than gold, flavor is good.
i may save seeds just for kicks.

the taiga regular leaf plant that i kept produced a large very nice looking red tomato, same size and shape
as true to type taiga. flavor was good. my wife really liked it. the cross is seedier than taiga is, so i have the
seeds from my half of the tomato in a jar fermenting in case someone needs to grow it.

They are tasty and thick-walled and very long keepers.

Nothing familiar, to me. Definitely not Selbo's Red Ribbed (which has little flavor). Your pic doesn't look piriform to me, unless the tomato is upside down.

If you're saving seed, at least one of the participants in the next swap would be very interested in seeds!

He's making a list, and checking it twice. Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.

HA! Let's call it user error, I probably misused verbiage. It wouldn't be the first time.

@habitat-gardener I saved a ton. Will be sending it in for next time. I'm astonished at how long these keep.

Finally I have tomatoes on my hanging-basket plants! But Sirja’s Love is red, not yellow. It does taste pretty good.

Habitat, I'll send in fresh Sirja's Love seed. It grew true for me and hopefully will again in 2022. More upright in growth than a basket type. Yellow and sweet without a thick skin.

Were the seeds from me in the last swap? Then my apologies for the wrong color! I've grown Sirja's Love so many times and always had yellow tomatoes... As the real Sirja is 15 now, I must have grown it 12 years ago for the first time. Do you plan to re-grow your red variety the next year?

I don't recall the source. I do plan to grow the red ones again! They are in the biggest hanging basket, so it could be that size matters, but they are certainly the most successful ones.

I wonder if I might have labeled my hanging baskets incorrectly. That's certainly a possibility, since I've heard no other reports of off types of Sirja's.

i am growing karma peach from the 2020 swap.
three out of four are regular leaf, only the one potato leaf plant.
same situation as the karma purple i grew out last year.
i will save seeds from the potato leaf plant. i may or may not grow one of the
regular leaf plants, depends on weather the space is there or not.
the karma purple regular leaf plant gave me pretty much the same tomato as the potato
leaf plant. the tomatoes may have been a bit larger on average, but taste and color were
about the same.

@Tormato I started 4 seeds of Elbonian Mudslinger. Three of them are PL and one is RL. Which is the correct leaf form that you are looking for? These seeds are labeled '21.

Elbonian Mudslinger (not stable) will produce PL (correct type) and RL seedlings. 2021 seed is from zendog, saved seed of a PL, who also had a few RL plants this year.

The origins go back to Wild Thyme, to Elgin Pink (which produces PL & RL versions, from what I've heard). Elbonian Mudslinger came from a PL plant of Elgin Pink (you were the seed source in 2014). And, that plant of Elgin Pink may not have been the true type (way too sweet, according to others' reports on flavor). Off-types originating with Wild Thyme are reported to be so exceptional, that I'll be keeping any RL seedlings.

Thanks for the history on this one. I never knew that I was the seed source. I learn something new every day! Looking at my records (you have my records too) I grew Elgin Pink in 2014 and you were my seed source. The seed given to me was from 2013. Now since I do have records of what I grew that year we might be able to narrow down what the cross was IF it occurred in my garden. Since that was the first time that I grew Elgin Pink I do not know if it was in fact too sweet to be the correct variety. I do know that I loved it and yes it was rather sweet. I really do enjoy my version of Elgin Pink!
