I've had packages to Hawaii in two days.

Now the quirk is, if I send a letter one town over, the closest regional sorting facility is in the nearby state. So, the letter goes to that state, comes back to this state, and always takes 4 to 5 days to deliver. If I was a postman with a walking route, I could deliver it, starting at my house, in about 2 hours.

I got a USPS Informed Delivery notification on Saturday saying I had a package on the way that made it to my local post office and thought I was going to wait all weekend in suspense. However, apparently if you use a Priority flat rate envelope, they deliver on Sunday. Today. And all I can say is....

HOLY TOMATO!!! WOW!!!

After participating last year, I kind of knew what to expect, but I'm again blown away. So many exciting things and I want to grow them all. This is a wonderful swap and I can appreciate the amount of time required to coordinate it. Thank You!

All of our sfuff goes to San Jose. Want to send a letter from Pebble Beach to Pacific Grove? You do that 2 mile trek via San Jose. Want to send a letter within even the same town for anyone in this whole area? It first goes to San Jose. San Jose is about an hour away.

I'll 3rd that excitement. Looking forward to perusing all of the new-to-me seeds and choosing a few new ones. One tomato that Tormato chose for me to grow was Rosedale. This is definitely a keeper and will be grown again. Thanks, Tormato!


The seeds have arrived, even before the snow. No suggestions or recommendations this year for tomatoes. Lots of bean seeds to try, thanks for the many different ones, snap and dry. The swap people are wonderful to share their grow outs. Tormato has the patience of Job to put all of our packets together. Thanks to all of you.

I wonder if it got mixed in with Express Priority mail (way too expensive) by mistake. I didn't think Priority was delivered on Sunday. But then, I didn't think Express Priority was delivered on Sunday, either.

That stands for PEAS - Murphy's Law. The departure was from my hands. I'd made it through about 6,000 packs of seeds without spilling anything, until now. Of course it would be peas. The thing is, all previous packing took place over a carpet. This one pack of peas was over a hardwood floor. They hit the floor and immediately dove for cover under furniture. I can't really bend the back right now to pick them up. So, I'll let my bare feet find the ones out in the open, with the best chances being at night.

I can appreciate the time the Mmmm takes... I just finished logging in all the Mmm seeds received and haven't even started to look them all up yet. Speaking of, I saw the note regarding grow out suggestions for next year. How does that work? Are you hoping to get as many back in to the swap as possible? I also have 2 from last year that I wasn't able to get enough seeds on for the swap, but should be able to this coming season if all goes as planned.

I'm just hoping to get enough back to keep the swap a success. This means varieties that most participants don't have, or varieties that haven't been in the swap for about 5 years. Participants are always looking for the latest and greatest that they've never heard of. And, they're searching for the Knock Your Socks Off and Desert Island tomatoes, too.

Sounds like a lot of fun to be in on this. I can only grow a little in my containers at the apartment, but may get over to a garden plot next year and could grow more things. Really like reading about all the excitement and types of seeds being sent out in here, great work from everyone.

Thank you! To Tormato and everyone who shared their seeds for this wonderful swap. The final 2 parts of my package have arrived & I am over the moon!! So many new varieties to try.
