Re: AmateurInAwe's Garden
The greenhouse tomatoes are coming on nicely too, a little too much growth, it's gonna be cramped in there....

Love the outdoor depth experiments, I expect you will get some huge rewards from that.
Your pots are black so they will absorb heat from the sun. The whole plant is going to benefit hugely from warmth alone.
Yum yum yum you're gonna eat well from those plants.

I couldn't resist it, so I did a few more. So all in all, 5 pots to see what adventitious rooting can do in terms of output, plant size, growth etc. Paired with their neighbour which is the same stock.

Week one of adventitious rooting. No appreciable difference between plants and their neighbour....

@GoDawgs courtesy of @Nico . I think he called it broccoli tomato (S.M.F.L.) Which might be SUper Multi Flora but I'm guessing. It looks lovely but tastes nothing like broccoli.
I suspect it will take a lot of feeding and it is still growing with more clusters growing.

Re: AmateurInAwe's Garden
10 days away house sitting with only 1 visit to water and feed the greenhouse, and the place looks like a jungle out there.
1) get my toothbrush out, there are just so many blossoms to agitate, check crosses and do some more
2) do a bit of thinning, check for any old leaves or signs of disease.
3) tie up some of the new growth outside to keep them supported, greenhouse plants need diverting from upward path as they've now reached the top.
4) weed (so many volunteers springing up) and then feed
I'd lost two plants with a stem rot, Brown band around the base of two plants and they showed signs of wilting so snipped them pronto. Sure enough the stem at base was hollow. Both had abundance of side shoots at base of plant which were previously snipped off, either the wounds got infected or the area is too damp close to the base. Make a note to dig out the soil next year in that area.
Oh and need to check on growth comparison on adventitiou s rooting plants.

Today's !esson: When crossing one variety with an SMFL, do not rely on trimming the sepals as the only way to identify which ones were crossed !
