Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
@AKgardener , thanks for the heads up on Inkspot's vining habit!
The Baby here is 5.75" tall and I think that's going to be it. The description I had was 3-5" range so that's about right.

I think tomorrow I will collect some seeds from it.

So all of my ink spots are ripening but they are definitely not purple like they should be all of my baby stayed in the 3 inch range.

Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
My understanding has been that anthosyans, the purple colour in tomato skin, requires sun light to be expressed. And even when getting sun light, tomatoes growing under leafs may still not have purple in them. I haven’t tried growing anthos inside, so don’t really know how they behave in such conditions but this might still explain why your ink spots are plain red.
All your toms looks great, by the way, thanks for posting! All new micros for me as well.

Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
These are the micros I'm doing now. They were all started on 4/14 and while they've been producing off and on since late June, they've all decided to avalanche at once. A last hurrah?

Yellow Canary in front, Inkspot in the back:

Vilma in the front, Aztek in the back:

Andrina in the front, Totem in the back:

In this group Totem has been a heavy producer with good sized cherries. As far as taste is concerned, it really varies even on a single plant which can be tasty one time and bland the next. That might depend on when it was watered but in those one gallon pots they need water every day. Probably rootbound. For sure none of them can compare taste-wise to regular tomatoes but in the winter they're better than most store bought and certainly less expensive. From now on I will probably only grow them winter and spring when the regular tomatoes are absent.
I have seed for just two varieties that I've not tried yet, Harden's Miniature and House, and those are next up. Florida Petite and/or Red Robin might get done again to keep them company. Both of those are good producers.

@AKgardener, if you participate in the MMMM swap this year you need to specifically request some micros!

Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
@AKgardener , I'm liking the dwarf plants too. This year was my first time growing any and several have earned another go next year. Those would be Pink Passion and either Rosella Crimson or Rosella Purple. I'm going to ask to try a few more from the MMMM this fall.
I just had to take a better pic of the Aztec micro. It's loaded. And with that somewhat cascading habit it almost seems to be a candidate for doing in a hanging basket. Ya think?

@GoDawgs such a beautiful plant I have so many pictures of mine over the years cause I can’t get over how stocky the plants are and the leaves. And just the cute tomatoes they really don’t take up a lot of space on a rack..I have grown the new big dwarf big brandy and tazmazian chocolate that one never produced for me but the other will grow again I have to stick with shorter day or season varieties in my area until I can really get a heated greenhouse

Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
My micros are ripening yaaaaaaaaaay!!!!!!
Orange pinnochio has given me my first 8 tomatoes of the season. Flavour is nice but not mind blowing.

My dwarfs are not doing that great though. They keep droping flowers
Last year i didnt have a good tomato season until september/ october, too much fog right now making it too cold in the morning and then too hot in the afternoon.

Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
If I can figure out how to post a pic, I'll show my Lemon Sherbet. It is a hybrid, but I love it.. part of the Sweet n Neat series.
Over the years, I have grown Mohamed (why on earth the name?), Red Robin, and a couple of yellow / orange ones. (including Aztec)
So far, I loved all the red ones... but Lemon Sherbet remains as a favourite.
What I did this year, I planted it in a bigger pot than I usually have done. So much easier to handle that way, as it grows much better and is not constantly dry. Also way more flowers and fruits than in a small container.

Re: Started Some New (to me) Micros
My bonsai are getting heavy with fruit. And they are super tasty. Defenetly planting again.
Curly kaley has given me a couple so far, not mind blowing.
Inkspot are getting all purple but not ripe yet.
Dwarfs giving me lots of leafs and flowers but not setting fruit. I think next year ill just do a bunch of micros, easier for my small balcony.
