74 degrees with 7 mph winds and 14 mph wind gusts, and there are continuous gusts. According to my personal weather station, 71 according to the computer. With the wind whipping again I decided to cover those beans with frost cloth, they will still move a bit but shouldn't overheat either.

I got .25", so far today (finally got my rain gauge in, since there is no more freezing forecast, but I watch closely). It's been dry here this year - I just saw that we are more than 2" below average, for these first three months, so far. Supposed to get to 69° today, but haven't had any sun, so not even up to 60° yet. And still wet out there, also.

I finally got a little sun, just before it got dark, and it only got to 63°. But about 9:00, I saw a flash of light in a window, when cleaning the kitchen, that seemed like lightning, and about 9:30 I started getting thunder! Still occasional around 10 pm.

And now, just after 11, the rainfall is up to .5", with more coming overnight, and in the morning, when I have an appointment. :(

The weather report says it is sleeting, here, this morning, but it is not. Temp is about 32-33 degrees.

Ozone watch day. Lots of sun, little wind, warm temperatures. High is supposed to reach 86° which will be I believe so far the high for 2023 and 10° or so over the long term average. Just a one day event, though, 80° tomorrow and 69° by Wednesday for highs.

Still snowing here with gale force winds from the north, continuing into the evening. Snow on ground looks to be the deepest yet this winter, with some colossal drifts as well in places. My door faces north so for sure it will be fun getting out there, whenever I decide to face it. Temperature is just below freezing but could go to 1C above. Snow on the windows is already melting and running down as it falls. So there won't be much more drifting, but it's gonna be a heavy load to shovel. Little bites.

It's been dark gray, and rainy all morning - more like misty, until about 10:30, and some heavy rain came through, and that is supposed to stop (briefly) a little after noon. It's been in the mid 40s, but should get into the 50s when the sun comes in, but late in the afternoon more heavy rain is forecast, showing a brief line of orange coming through, in the radar. I'll be waiting until tomorrow to go out there again, though I don't know what I could do, really.

Hot and sunshine out there today, currently 81 degrees according to my computer weather, but my personal weather station says it's 88 degrees. Not much wind out there.

Many Californians were trapped in their houses with that big storm this year.

I've only had a handful of times in my life with a storm and drifts that could block exits, and it happened once. Since then, I monitor what is expected, and keep clearing well out past the doorway with each new 6" of snow. Only once did I stay up all night shoveling. Usually I could go to sleep at about 2, and wake up at about 7, and still be able to open the doors.

Got 0.6" of rain this morning and then it totally cleared off. It will help the carrot and turnip seed I put out a couple days ago. Severe weather warnings are out but for way south of here. More rain tomorrow. It's been 83 this afternoon.

I think we are headed to OZ! Internet is iffy, the lights are flickering and the wind is howling! Watched the siding on the garage flap in the wind and now the shingles to our roof are in the front yard.

Yer too kind!

Please note that The Gotch was grilling his (arguably) World Renowned Boneless/Skinless Chicken Breasts a mere 24 hours ago when it was ~45°F/7.2°C...clear...calm...and cloudless...when there was no, and I mean NO! white stuff.

Don't like the weather today...just wait...

You have those carrot seeds covered, right?

After about 4 to 5 days I remove the covering, as long as there is no steady rain or downpours expected.

The first year that I did carrots, it rained hard, and my garden was not perfectly level. The 4 foot rows of carrot seeds washed down to the slightly lower side, ending up in small little swirls. I found that out after they sprouted.

Miserable day, yesterday and today, .62", then .29" so far today, with mist still coming down. Only brief periods of almost brightness, but then it would be wet again. Only up to 52° briefly, but usually in the 40s both days. Tomorrow is supposed to get to 60°, but very windy; I wasn't really going to do much out there, however.

And now I hear another thunderstorm coming through at midnight! .30" by 12:25 am.

Wow, I had never thought about covering them so no, I don't. Never had that runoff problem before. It was a nice light rain for the most part with only about 5 minutes of harder rain. Today might be a different story...
