At the quarter pole, The Gotch retakes the lead with another Big Zac:

While watering I caught a glimpse of that monster hiding behind this runt:

Stopped EVERYTHING to cut brush, break trail, bust sod, and trim foliage to secure it, worrying the whole time it might fall and explode!

I guess that it would be Dec. 31, 2023. I hope that your friend is up to the challenge! He will need lots of compost.

ERRATUM: Both the above are Guido Heirlooms.

It's next to four (4) Big Zac plants, which contributed to this grievous identification error.

Seed will be saved from that Genetic Marvel!

If anything, that BEAST is undersized due to our Extreme Drought conditions.

ZERO rainfall in August thus far, the last moisture anything got was an early morning hosing on the first before we left town; took me ~ three (3) hours to water everything yesterday.

Dec 31st, that's good, there still plenty of season to go here and just want to let Gotch and Mark know that it's not in the bag yet so hold off on the acceptance speeches

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I think @karstopography is still sitting at 2-06, the rest of us peasants are still just wrangling over second place…
